I am amazed at how much my tank has grown, including this beautiful SPS. I have a couple problems though.

1st: What is it???? Please help! I would like to frag eventually and would like to know what it is called!

2nd: A couple of week ago I noticed a bubble forming on part of the coral. While the rest of the coral is hard this part is very soft. What is really cool is it is Seehawks colors but that is besides the point. Last week the bubble began to drip. The coral is a bright green, except for the bubble that has blue mixed in. It looked like snot running (in pretty colors :) ). The "snot" is no longer running but it did leave a bit on another rock below where a new coral is growing. I think this is a really cool thing but I was wondering if anyone knows what it is. I have attached two recent photos. One is a top view and the other is a side view with the bubble.

Thanks everyone for your help!

Hello,
The coral is Hydnophora most likely rigida species. Dripping of tissue is a reproductive strategy used by some stony corals.

Cheers,
Kevin
