For Seattle, that is a blizzard! Kept snowing over night, its actually almost 'respectable' now with a few inches on the ground.

Well, i cannot actually say I feel sorry, because no one I know over there gives a rats patoot how much snow I get..............................LOL. So be careful on the roads, and remember it is the other guy that is behind the wheel that will get you :).

I remember those winters from living in PA and Indiana. There is a huge difference, but they also aren't the slightest bit prepared for snow here, and when folks only see it once a year, or once every couple of years, they really have no idea how to drive in it either. When I first moved out to Seattle and they urged people to stay home when there was a dusting of snow I laughed. Then I went out on the roads and realized its actually really dangerous to do so here.

I just have a warped sense of humor, because I just laugh. When I heard Atlanta got snow, that brought a nice chuckle too :).

My niece said that Tallahassee, Florida got snow and she said people were freaking out. She said it was so funny watching them contend with it. She is originally from Nebraska, like myself, so it was nothing new to her.

So, on another forum I had accidentally added someone to my ignore list. Couldn't quite figure out how to un ignore them. Google knows everything, right?
Anyway, clicked on the first result AND....

Probably thought it was an alien invasion..............LOL

I'm sure. I trucked through Vicksburg, Mississippi once during a snowstorm and some little old lady was driving down the interstate at about 15 mph and all of the trucks were just blowing around her. I tried passing her fairly slow but it still kicked up a bunch of snow. She was an accident waiting to happen, she had no business being out there.

Alot of folks should not be allowed on the road anyways, but people that go soooooooooooooooo slow on interstates are really a hazard.

I have been away from the hobby for nearly 4 years. I just returned and have spent some time on here. I saw this thread right away and thought nothing of it. After being on here over the last 3-4 weeks I now see what you mean. It's terrible how much the participation has diminished!!! Use to be able to see enough topics in new threads in one day to match the entire 3-4 weeks I've been back. Very sad! I hope since I'm back now that it gets better!!!
Cheers!
Matt

It was a freak storm. Alot of people don't realize you have to adjust your driving, according to conditions and some of that adjustment is to stay off of the roads.

I always want to tell folks around here that it is NOT the worst thing in the world to run into the person in front of you. Some of the embankments I've seen them almost run off in uncontrolled skids because they didn't think about stopping until it was too late then of course slammed their brakes... well they would have had much much much worse outcomes than a call to the insurance company, or out even just the of pocket expenses..

Totally agree on that, I remember having to drive thru a ground blizzard one time, and if the truck in front of us would have stopped quickly, it would have been really ugly.

and the best to be behind because they block at least some of it...
White outs were the worst. You can't stop, you just have to keep following the lights in front of you... and hope they don't drive off a cliff.

Driving through Montana once, in a 'plains' like area, and the snow was gently blowing over the road, almost in lots of tiny little hurricanes fashion. That was my best guess at what you meant. That was just memorizing. Would have been really easy to get caught up in it and forget you were driving.
