The green plant (witch i cant figer out how to stop) Or the pylop?

what should i do about this green bush, pritty soon im gonna have a green bush tank insted of a reef tank.

Do you think that if i just let it go and see if it will work it self out? OR should i get crazy and pull the rock out burn the shizt off? drive over in in the car and do a burn out on it, toss it in the pool out side and then shoot it with a shot gun?

it looking like besides this big azz peace theres another small bush on the other side, and i think i just spoted some more in the center.

(alll 3 rocks) there has to be something i can do ... stop feeding, turn the lights off for a couple of days, put a bag over it

what am i gonna do
it has to be feeding on something right? how can i figer that one out? can i pull it off and put in in the sump? ahhhh!

Seriously, they are some very cool looking plants. Bet you could sell them if you don't like them. There are a surprising number of plant collectors. Otherwise, buy a nice blue tang and it will relish the green treats.

cause the pylops (thank you) are growing well, but this green plant is outta control and im scared that in a couple of months im gonna have a big green kelp sea weed looking tank.

Tangs love them. Put a yellow in a tank with calurpa and the plants will be gone within days. Vegisaurs

Phosban What you can do as well is harvest the green stuff. You could pop the rock with it on it in your sump/fuge and let it work for you as it uses up all the excess nuitrients in the tank. Eventually, it should use it all up and start to dissapate. If you were to totally remove it from your system and you still have quite a bit of excess nutrients in your tank, then something else will grow in it's place to use it up if not more of the exact same thing if there are spores left behind in your tank somewhere. Just a thought...

caluerpa is a good plant if used properly. if you put it in the sump with a light on it it will grow. the way it grows is that it uses exess nutrients from within your water column along with the light. as it grows you can trim some of the plant which will remove those exess nutrients from your tank. if you have fish ( such as tangs, rabbitfish) that like veggies you can feed some of it back to them. it also can be a refuge for copepods. I would move it away from your polyps and out of your main tank if nothing is eating it.
emerald crabs will not eat it that i know of. check out some of the forums on refugiums.

yes, if you dont want to put your rock in the sump just pull it out of the rock and toss it.

just pull the plant out????? i thought i said i cant do that with out it spreading more. ive pulled the rock out cleaned it in a bucket and its still geting bigger it can not be touched it will get bigger

the only way i can remove this (i figer) is 2 remove its source of food, or get something to eat it.

I agree with Krish, if you don't allow the alga to grow somewhere in the system, you will just be fighting some other species....

That is bryopsis (atleast appears to be), and IME the only thing that will touch the stuff is a fox face, and that is sometimes hit or mis. You will want to get that stuff under control. GFO (I prefer phos-lock) in a reactor (so you can see the flow, or how much its "dancing/bubbling"). Then manual removal of the algae.

BTW, The algae will win the battle

What they are saying is to pull the ROCK with the plant on it out of your tank. If you have to chip the polyps off the rock, great, but get that plant out of your display.

It sounds like it came in on your live rock that you bought. If you don't want to pull the rock out all the way, can you chip the algae off the rock and replace the rock in the tank.. If it is bryopsis, you are gonna have one heck of a time getting rid of it, from what I have heard, especially if it is on all your rock.
