Why do I have green algae only growing on the places

where I have swift waterflow? that would be green hair algae I think. Long, lanky green algae.

From what I understand about algae, some like high flow areas while others hate a lot flow...

With my experience with Hair Algae it really isn't picky. It'll grow where ever it can get a source of nutrients and light.

Is it growing in a particular area of your live rock? It could be that you have phosphates or nitrates bound up in your live rock. Try giving your live rock a good blasting when you do water changes. Clean out all the cracks and crevices.

It is not a problem ::knock on wood:: only grows in the two places. I was just wondering as so many have a problem with algae.
