yellow tank red spots???

3 yr old tang just developed red splotches on the rear of its body.. i will post pics in my gallery... if anyone has any info on this thank you....
 
i started bio pellets about a month ago but its the only fish affected at the moment.....

photos are in my gallery now.....
 
can you catch it and place it in a QT tank? I think Maracyn II is in order...
 
I had a yellow tang back in the day that did that. I was told that it had hemorrhaged. It was a fish only tank and I fed it mostly meaty things. He needed more greens. I hope I am wrong with yours. Mine didn't make it a week.
 
The link provided by NC2WA is right-on. That would likely be the correct diagnosis. A systemic antibiotic is necessary, and fast. The fish must be in a quarantine tank for this.

This usually occurs when water quality or diet or both go 'south' and the fish becomes stressed. Over time the hobbyist often begins to skip routine maintenance like keeping detritus out of the system, or maintaining the chemical filter, or using the wrong protein skimmer, or . . .
