Looking to rid a clump of zoas infiltrated with hair algae.Read a post that dipping in hydrogen peroxide might work.Any experience or other treatments besides hand picking?I'm doing the general measures to the whole tank with slow success. My Tangs and other reef cleaners don't seem to be helping. Foxface the answer?

I've had alot of luck w/ Emerald crabs but they can pick frags up and move them if they are small enough

how long have you had it on there just a couple weeks maybe it takes a little to take control

Gfo has been running for a month and recently I raised my Mag up to 1600.Sloooow improvement. Trying to be patient. Trying to see what experience there might be with the hydrogen peroxide idea I stumbled across but no specifics were given about how to do it.

There are many companies that market it. If you go to the Bulk Reef Supply website you can read about their GFO products and see there reactors.

Api makes a. Algae killer worked really well for me you can get it it petsmart fo $18 follow the instuctions and I should go away pretty quick and yes it is reef safe. Good luck

I've tried hydrogen peroxide dip to remove algae that is hard to scrub off....I found that if you don't rinse off all the hydrogen peroxide from the colony, the bubbles will continue to eat up the zoas.

I just soak live rock that has algae that i cant scrup off in HO. But I wouldnt try it on anything that i wanted to keep. So I wont try it on any of my corals.

HO=hydrogen peroxide I presume? Do you use it full strength or diluted. The thread I found on Reef Central talked about 1 part H2O2 and 9 parts water. How long did you soak? The algae I'm dealing with is Bryopsis.

After reading saltwaterfishes post on the hydrogen peroxide dip, yesterday I decided to give it a try on a frag I had that was almost completely overrun with bryopsis.
I removed as much as I could by hand and then dropped it in a container that had approx. 25% to 30% hydrogen peroxide to 70% to 75% tank water for about 1 to 1-1/2 minutes.
Then as Caitlen said, made sure there was no more hp on the frag by putting it in the direct stream of a powerhead for a minute.
Today the frag looks to be 99.9999% algae free.
The polyps are still angry, but there is color showing.
