Zoo help!!!!!

hey ive got some green dragon eye zoos and they are awesome but me being completely new to any kind of coral, didn't think about my star fish thats in the tank, i came home the other day and he was sitting on my zoos so i yanked him off and have kept the zoo's in a breeder so that he cant get to them, some of the polyps open but the ones he was directly sitting on aren't opening, this happened about 28 hrs ago..... any idea if they will heal themselves?

what kind of star fish I believe the chocolate chip stars eat corals.

There are only a handful of reef safe starfish currently in the field. Most of the star fish at the common fish store chains are not safe IE petco etc. Only reef safe ones i've seen in spokane are from aquatic dreams, the red fromia stars, even those need a quite established reef tank and are very sensitive to even minute changes in water chemistry.

A good rule of thumb is, if it has bumps, it's NOT reef safe. This is just a rule of thumb, but a fairly good one to follow. Fromia, Linkia, Brittle and Serpent Starfish are reef safe.

okay yeah it was a chocolate chip, i talked to my brother and he said he was going to take him, im wondering thou if they coral will live, the polyps that arent opening are still kinda round and bulb like, like the others ones look like when they arent open, my question is if they are going to heal and be okay or should i cut them off so they dont toxic up the tank?
thanks for the help on finding a coral safe star btw, does anyone know if turbo snails are reef safe?

Only time will tell if they will reopen. I wouldn't start cutting on it and it won't "toxic up your tank".

i would just leave them alone if they are good to go they will open back up. zoo's are pretty hardy corals. they will bounce back. i had a frag with just only 3 dragon eye's zoa polyps on it in about 2 1/2 months i have 15. and that was when i was gone on the ship with my wife taking care of them (she just made sure the tank had water in it and there was nothing floating) she has no idea how to take care of the tank.
