    T-5 ???

The IceCap 600 is overdriving the two 54W bulbs at approximately 85 watts each. That is why they are so darn bright. You could swap out the two T5 actinics for two T12 VHO actinics if you have the room for the larger T12 endcaps. Some people prefer T12 actinics over T5 actinics. Gary

    RIP - Clown

I am sorry for your loss. Twenty two years is amazing and I imagine that you and your clown fish know each other pretty well. Will you replace him with another clown? Gary

    TGF Generators

I bought a Honda EU2000I Inverter generator a couple of months ago. Its a nice little insurance policy to have when the power goes out. g

    Which light should I get?

If you can pull it off, go with a six bulb fixture. The price difference justifies getting 50% more light and having more choices of combinations of bulbs you can go with. Also, six bulb fixtures typically have two switches - one for two bulbs and one for four bulbs. Also, buying a six bulb...

    Which light should I get?

Here is another option for you to consider: http://cgi.ebay.com/6-Bulb-48-T5-HO-Electronic-Lighting-System-324-watts_W0QQitemZ290334922456QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item43994f56d8 I am not sure about the reflectors, but these guys are in Oregon and for the price, it looks...

    Open backed 75g aquarium stand

Wow, that looks very sturdy indeed - good job. Your 75-gallon tank is glass, right? Also, does the inside floor of the stand have some support in the middle? I am looking at the two pictures trying to figure out how the two fron t panels come off. They must fit perfectly into the front...

    Jedi Mind Trick Montipora Undata

I have a couple frags of this coral that I purchased from a reefer in Portland earlier this year. That's a nice looking specimen and the price is right, too. g

    Gary and Julia's Oceanic 75RR

Here is a light fixture that I am considering: http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=AT-AQIC4800-K&Category_Code=Aquactinics&Store_Code=PA Yeah, the cost is a bit high, but I know someone who is selling a used one. I could modify my canopy so this...

    Gary and Julia's Oceanic 75RR

Yes, I do have a canopy for this tank that matches the stand. It is a standard 12" canopy painted black with two hinged doors on the front. I am thinking of mounting two Lumen Bright Mini reflectors in the canopy, but the canopy is not tall enough to optimize the benefits of the Lumen Bright...

    Gary and Julia's Oceanic 75RR

For the skimmer, I have decided to abandon using a used Aerofoamer 824 that I picked up earlier this year. For this tank it is too big, takes up too much space in the stand, and requires a high head/flow pump to drive the Becket injector. I have some pumps that would work, but I think that I...

    Gary and Julia's Oceanic 75RR

The time has come to finally get our Oceanic 75-gallon RR up and running. It has been sitting empty as a room divider behind the sectional in the living room. I have grown weary of maintaining three small tanks. Its just too much work to maintain proper water chemistry in three tanks. Setting...

    I got crabs

I found one similar to that living in one of my acro colonies. He was fuzzy, brown, and had black pointy claws. I gave him little tiny concrete shoes and dropped him overboard where he will never be found. g

    best external skimmer

I suppose it depends on how you define "best". Bang for your buck? Energy efficient yet still more than adequate for the application? Small, easy to use and not finicky? I will finally be setting up my 75-gallon RR tank in a month or so. My current plans are to employ a used Reef...

IS Electricity or voltage in aqaurium harmfull for fishes, inverts or corals

Here is an older thread about GFCI's and grounding probes that I found over at RC: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=504227 According to this thread, I do need to use a GFCI with my grounding probe to receive the intended protection. IS Electricity or voltage in aqaurium harmfull for fishes, inverts or corals

I run grounding probes on all three of my tanks. Do I need to run my grounding probe through a GFCI outlet to receive the full benefit of a grounding probe?
