    store bought shrimp

Actually the freshwater shrimp should be just fine. After all, the mysis shrimp we feed our livestock is from freshwater.

    More on ocean acidification

Yeah yeah...relax, we're just flippin you crap. You are obviously passionate and intelligent; you could always converse with us about these topics. After all, they do affect ALL of us. This is a forum... It what areas are they seeing this? One of my favorite things to do with the wife and...

    More on ocean acidification

I'll give him a little credit on this one; at least he's recommending a good read. I almost literally had to pull some teeth out to give him any credit at all...but I did.

    Vacation Lighting and Feeding?

It goes dark in the ocean sometimes...but you definitely don't want to have them on the whole time. Not just for temperature but also for algae growth. I accidently did this once and I came back to find a large algae bloom.

    Magnesium and calcium reactor

Couldn't hurt, plus it will help with any algae growth and give me that much more time in between replenishing it.

torn between LED or Plasma Arc light

Huge difference...for instance the difference between moonlight blue intensity versus full on 23k blue at 100% intensity. Plasma will not have the ability to control how intense the blues are, or at least have the ability to individually control that spectrum of light. But this is just what I...

    Magnesium and calcium reactor

I use SeaChem Aquavitro Salinity salt and it states the magnesium is around 1336mg/L...decent I guess, however I wouldn't mind having it up in the 1500 range.
  13. FreakinReefin

torn between LED or Plasma Arc light

Not technically...it states that the plasma lighting at less than 50% power has a "pleasant blue hue"...'dimming' is one thing but turning down 'intensity' is another. I do not have to turn the intensity of the light down in order to acheive blue hue. Plus with 100% 'power' there is still blue...

    Magnesium and calcium reactor

Is there any reactor media that will provide this boost in magnesium? It would be great if it would all just come together...:doubt:

    Pacific Sun Light Programming

I think the light itself saves the settings. This is a total guess but I know when I open the settings program, all the PAR settings and other stuff is all set to '0'. But then I hit Probe settings and it all fills in automatically. I upgraded to the new program when I got the new lights...

torn between LED or Plasma Arc light

I don't have PAR ratings but I know they are very high. My tank is only a 65 and is 24" tall and I have to turn the intensity way down in order to keep it from bleaching every coral in the tank.

torn between LED or Plasma Arc light

    18k at 100% both.
  18. FreakinReefin

torn between LED or Plasma Arc light

Not at all...I can have 100% power with both whites and blues on.
  19. FreakinReefin

torn between LED or Plasma Arc light

Yeah but then you don't have full power with a certain kelvin...
  20. FreakinReefin

torn between LED or Plasma Arc light

Yeah but no blues?? That means you have to supplement with actinic which is addtional space and cost...
