    Natural Light?

Natural sunlight will almost always result in algae blooms. Trust me....I speak from experience!

ORA Hawkins Echinata - XLG Colony

Totally bums me out. I just lost my Hawkins colony to RTN. After downsizing my system I've had a hard time getting everything stable and have lost a few of my favorite pieces.

    problem

My copperband cleaned my tank out of aptasia in about a week, but they are hit or miss like any livestock remedy. Not to mention they have a fairly poor surviveability rate for the most part, though mine has taken quite well to frozen foods.

    Rescaping my tank

With some creative stacking you can create lots of little caves and overhangs that the fish really love, and will also provide you with some low light spots for some of your low light corals!

    Why is this happening??

Blue Sierra carries them most of the time, but it's probably got to do more with the fact that they aren't a bright multicolored fish that is so popular a trend in marine aquaria.

    Why is this happening??

Midas' are pretty cool aren't they? I had one for a long time and I used to love watching it wriggle it's way into the tighest spaces. Unfortunately I have far too agressive a tank nowto have such a peaceful fish.

    Help! Need advice on cleaning

Are you dure it's just deposits and that the glass isn't etched? If a razor blade doesn't do the trick I'd suspect that it may be etching.

    The downsize!

They are individual controllable strips for the Reef Keeper Elite. From top to bottom you have the controller interface, the probe interface module and then (5) 4 outlet controllable power strips for the RKE. Really nice because each outlet is controllable. You guys are funny, I thought my...

    Why is this happening??

Seems unusual to have a midas antagonizing anyone. They are usually a very peaceful fish minding their own business. IMO clowns with an anemone are usually the ones doing the bullying if anything. The coral beauty doesn't surprise me so much, as they can be stinkers if you get a particularly...

One last attempt to see if I could get any type of assistance at reeffrontiers

With regards to your lighting question, I might caution against using 4x250w MH on your 240 if you're planning on making it and SPS dominated reef. I began with this set-up on my 240 (96x24x24) and found that it really wasn't enough lighting even with T5 supplimental to support SPS corals...

    Reefkeeper 2 or Reefkeeper Lite??

I use the reef keeper elite v2 and I love it. When first released they had some major firmware issues, but have corrected all of those in v2.

    what could cause this?

Mine will periodically close up for a few days to a weeks at a time and then be fine for months on end. I wouldn't worry too much about them.

    The downsize!

the supply pump for them is just a mxijet600. A 1/2 barbed fitting will actually fit into the rubber slips that come with the reactors which makes it easy to reduce to 1/4" JG's. Then the 1/4" tubing will just shove into the maxijet outlet pretty snug. Works like a charm and eliminates having...

    The downsize!

Okay, so many of you know that I had to move my tank down to Blue Sierra back in January due to a flood in my home. In order to fascilitate the move more easily I purchased a used 240g acrylic tank from Jonas to set-up in the store while they babysat my livestock and gear. Well, my house is...

got new xenia :) any advice on kepping him alive

again, that depends on certain variables. I can cut mine down to nothing in my 240 and in two weeks have a colony the size of a basketball again. But that's in a high light high nutrient environment.

    drilling for closed loop, overflow

Take a close look at the crazing and see how deep it is. If it's real surfacy then it should be okay, but if it looks like the crazing is pretty deep in the brace I don't know that I would trust it without replacing it. Probably had a MH bulb mounted directly over the top of it at some point...

    Cleaner Clams

I had thought about using them in the past but had been warned against it by some people due to the fact that they can carry a lot of parisites and things and since clams don't usually take well to being treated with any sort of dips or medications, it's just not worth the hastle.

Skimmer question. help me set this thing up better

I love that you don't pull punches Mark :) If it's a piece of crap....call it a piece of crap. Even if it's a $700-800 piece of crap!

Updated Video Of My 7 Month Old ORA Grade A Picasso

Absolutely stunning fish. Picasso's are still my favorite of all the new "hybridized" clown colorations people are coming up with these days.

    Coral wars...

apparently they can Sid....a new revelation myself. I have been struggling for months trying to figure out why my SPS just didn't look *wow* like they should and used to, and I noticed my Zoos had kind of gone *bleh* as well. I decided it was time to break up the relationship and rehome the...
