    RO/DI waste won't shutoff

Ok I'm now set up for two 75gpd membranes. I'm still waiting on my booster pump to arrive. My water output is definitely a lot better; I think my 100gpd membrane was shot even though I only had it for 6 months. However, even though I replaced the ASV and almost everything else I can think of...

    Beta Testers needed..

Oh I was... delayed... I signed up and played for about 15 minutes and had some trouble, and now I can't seem to log back on to my account for some reason...? Am I dumb?

Here is something you dont see everyday!

I love clown triggers; one of my favorite fish. Do they bother your corals at all? Do you have crabs or snails? I never dared to have one in my reef, but if I ever go fish-only I'm getting one of these for sure.

    Sock or not to sock........

Ron, I wouldn't go any smaller than 50 micron. Any less and it may not even keep up with your overflow rate.

    Sock or not to sock........

I ran a 100-micron sock for many months and just got sick of changing them every few days. On advice from another local reefer with a gorgeous tank who doesn't use socks, I decided to remove mine. So far I haven't noticed any difference in the tank, but I'm sure enjoying not having to clean...

    Lets talk closed loops....

I don't know if I'd call the Hammerhead quiet. It's a great pump and I have two under the house, but I wouldn't want them in my living room -- especially if you have to throttle them back at all.

    Jawfish stupid question

I had a jawfish who loved to eat live baby brine, so I would assume they'll eat these guys as well. Remember the cardinal rule of fishkeeping: if it's small enough to fit in a fish's mouth, it will. I've never seen my current jawfish eat one, but he mostly comes out at night. Mostly.

    Choosing a chiller

I have no personal experience with this, but from what I've heard they are prone to breakage and don't work as well as the inline units.

    RO/DI waste won't shutoff

Ok Don, turns out I'm an idiot... my pressure problem wasn't a problem at all. My incoming pressure to the unit is almost the same as it is at the membrane (about 53 psi). So I'm planning to add a booster pump to get that pressure into a usable range for a dual membrane setup. Is 75 psi about...

    crazy nice Italian tank

SueT, I assume you feed your fish other foods to supplement or do you only feed this coral mush to the tank? I would be worried about overfeeding.

    RO/DI waste won't shutoff

Ok I'll have to take a look at it. My unit has the three integrated canister things and it may not be so easy to just unhook one of them.

    RO/DI waste won't shutoff

Don, what do you make of the fact that my incoming water pressure is 90psi before my first prefilter, and 53psi after passing through all three prefilters? That seems like a huge drop. All prefilters are new. I'm using 10/5/1 micron in that order.

    Blue-jaw trigger not eating

Thanks Mark. You weren't supposed to talk about my evil trigger-cloning experiment!

    Blue-jaw trigger not eating

Yep, I have a pinpoint monitor and a refractometer, and the temperature was right on as well.

    Blue-jaw trigger not eating

Right, especially since the LFS said he had been eating before I got him. No, not really. He liked to wedge himself under the bleached coral pieces on his side, but I think that's normal behavior for a trigger. Other than his shyness he looked like a healthy fish to me. The journey home...

    RO/DI waste won't shutoff

What do you consider "low pressure"? So next I will get a booster pump and hook up two 75 gpd membranes and replace the flow restrictor. After that I don't think there's much else I can possibly replace so that'd better do the trick!

    RO/DI waste won't shutoff

My pressure went up to 53 psi after I replaced the three prefilters (10/5/1 micron). I don't know if the ASV is working yet; I'll try to remember to test that tonight. I did not replace the flow restrictor. However I am planning to move up to two 75gpd membranes and will replace it as part...
