    RO/DI waste won't shutoff

That's odd Scooty, it's been working fine for months so I don't think it's a plumbing problem. I have a pressure gauge somewhere; first I have to find it. My TDS is still zero but I don't think that tells me much since I have a DI stage. Nothing put pure blissful clean water gets out of that.

    RO/DI waste won't shutoff

Wow Colleen, what are you guys growing up there? My gas and electric combined is no more than $350 for the worst month out of the year... and this is a 1975 pre-energy code house and $100 of that electric cost is the tank. My two-month water bill is usually not more than $80, but with my...

    RO/DI waste won't shutoff

Still not, but I haven't replaced anything yet. I have a new ASV to try out but haven't installed it yet. Just this week I noticed the output has really dropped off and figured it might be the membrane, per Mungus' advice above. I will try your suggestion first before replacing anything; that...

    RO/DI waste won't shutoff

I bought the unit new about 6 months ago and have been using it pretty steadily since then. Since I'm starting to see the output drop as well, I'm guessing it's one or more of the filters and/or membranes. Not sure which it is though, and I hate to replace them before they're due. This is a...

    RO/DI waste won't shutoff

I've noticed the output from the unit start to drop drastically in the last week or so. One of the filters must be plugged or something. How can I tell which one it is? I have a 5-stage.

Interesting, I have the same ballasts; I'll have to borrow one of your bulbs some time and see how they look!

The jawfish? Yeah he is a lot of fun. I've only had him about a month. He has moved burrows several times; I think the big fish kinda freak him out. Yes, it has been quite a journey! Thanks to all the great advice I got here while setting this baby up, I hope to have continued success into...

What kind of 12K bulbs and ballast are you using?

    Metal Halide hood

A lid will lower your pH significantly as well, due to CO2 buildup. If you're planning to run a calcium reactor I'd try to do without the lid.

Here's the firefish I got from kendog261. He is in quarantine as a precaution, but he is eating well and seems healthy. I'll probably put him in the display in a few weeks.

Actually I have already put them in after treating them. My corals never seem to enjoy their time in quarantine that much, so they are looking a little brown. They always start to color up in a month or two though, and I'll take some pictures then to give a true representation! The red monti...

Dude, always use this stuff outside. It gives off nasty nasty fumes. Wear a respirator if you have one.

    240 Donkey Tank

Time for an update. You purists can slap me, I put an angel fish into my tank. Yeah maybe it wasn't the best idea but he's a great fish. He does like to nip at hydnophora and occasionally at xenia, but overall it's not bad. The corals still look pretty darned healthy. He's about 5-6", the...

    General question about used barrels

You bet. Remember true-union valves are your friend. They are pricey but you'll regret it later if you don't put them where you need them (i.e. around pumps).

    General question about used barrels

Yeah, plan everything so you never have to lift another bucket in your life! Get a few of those American DJ power centers, lots of pumps and PVC pipe/valves, and you're off to the races. Use gravity to your advantage if you have the room. Here's a few links to the guy's threads. He has some...
