    hard vs soft growth

I've had a BC14 for a year as well and have experienced the same. For some reason GSP does not like to grow in my tank, which is weird cause all my frogspawn and hammers have been taking off. I need to find a good skimmer!

I have a 20 gallon reef aquarium that needs a skimmer, preferably a hang on back. What skimmer offers the best value (quality v. price)? What are some of my options? What have you had experience with? I've had my eye on either a CPR Bak Pak or Aqua C Remora. What are your thoughts on...

    What is this creature?

Usually starfish with skinny legs are reef safe (i.e brittle stars) and starfish with thicker legs are not reef compatible (i.e chocolate chip starfish) Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

what are some of the pros and cons of using uv sterilizers in a reef tank? i am considering purchasing one for my 14g biocube housing mostly softies, for the purpose of preventing/eliminating algae growth and unwanted pathogens. what do my fellow reefers think of these devices and have...

    frogspawn "decaying"

I've had a metallic frogspawn colony of about 4 heads for a few weeks now. I have seen significant growth over the past few weeks in terms of new layers of tentacles growing but lately the head on the "bottom right" of the picture has been decaying. The tentacles normally look like those on...
