Gold stripe maroons can be very nasty as well. I love them and have one but it should be introduced near the end as well. If you have thoughts of having 2 of them make sure they are different sizes and introduce them at the same time. It's still hit and miss if they will get along but that is...

So my math suck too. Actually 4 6100 Tunzes would be 12700gph flow.

Me too Charlie. I'm just thinking that with the Tunze's on controllers I would be able to get intermittent (sp) flow and at the end of the day would be moving way more water - ie: 4 X 3175gph for 6350gph vs. the closed loop run by my sequence barracuda which is something like 5800gph less...

The Plumbing and Water flow Workshop

Well I am just getting as frustrated as can be. Now it turns out that the hole saw that I was going to borrow is probably for cutting glass so is a diamond bit that I would ruin drilling acrylic. Mike what would be the downside of just going with 4 6100 Tunzes on a controller? If I also...

    Jiddy's 220g MASTERPIECE!

Ya Jid how is your tank looking? Still in the trenches with your algea? Don't worry we have all been there and some of us still are.

Ok then. I have the BH so I will take them with me next week (shop I am borrowing hole saw from is closed on the weekend) and will match them up to the bit. Joey maybe we can get a deal on new tanks if we buy 2 - and we'll get them pre-drilled.

Ok, how much do you top off your tank in a day.

That's the way it looks but I think that a lot more has to be factored in such as size of sump (mine is a 77g with a water volume of probably 45g) room temperature, lights, amount of live rock (thereby reducing total water volume) etc. I am sure that there are people out there that actually...

    Problem with new sump

Krish that made me really laugh out loud. I bet Jiddy has some more ideas for things that Ken "shove".

Believe me when you live where I do and the closest LFS is like 850kms away you have to get inventive. I order online quite a bit but like you I have to pay taxes when it gets here if I order from outside of Canada. I also order lots of stuff to have for backup. I have an extra skimmer and...

I just had to buy some because I bought (rescued) a new fish that when i added it to the tank was going to get killed. I had to build an egg crate cage so he could still go in the tank and not be attached. I live way......out in the boonies but I did find some at a building supply store...

Krish if you protected the bottom of your light fixture with plexi then you could just go with eggcrate over the whole top of the tank to keep the fishies in.

    Problem with new sump

They do up here because quite often they work in plexiglass as well. I know that I have had them do acrylic shields for lights before when mine have warped because of heat.

    Problem with new sump

Why not check a glass shop and see if they have any lying around? The easy cheese sounds interesting though. Maybe some duck feathers for bonding?

Hey Krish is that a tunze I see in your tank??????? Another option that might work for you is to go to a glass shop and see if they can cut you a thin 1/4" or so piece of plexiglass (acrylic) that you could use on the bottom of your light fixture to protect it from water spray. I can't really...

I'm baaackk! Well I thought that I had someone lined up to drill my tank for me and do the plumbing. I have most of the plumbing parts but was unable to find any loc line although I still have a couple of places to check. This is probably a really dumb question but I have to ask cause I don't...

    Tunze Streams

Oh don't get me wrong the tunzes are fantastic. I have a Seio in my 24g nano and it works OK but in my mind there is no comparison. Of course that is a little like comparing apples to oranges because I run the Tunzes in my 230g but still. No it is just the bracket that they use to mount the...
