    Digitate Hydroids

Deltec epoxy wont whack out your skimmer, it's grey, and our local coral store uses that to cover them and kills them. Kinda like Jimmy Hoffa :)

    acrylic scratch removal

Inside the tank To remove coralline, algae etc, glass products can not be used. Kent makes an acrylic scraper that is made from plastic. It works well, but expect a little more work compared to the metal ones for glass. Credit cards also work if your in a bind. For magnet cleaners, ie mag floats...

    acrylic scratch removal

SP Aquatics posted this for our local club... How to properly care for Acrylic It has come to my attention recently that many people are unaware of how to properly care for their acrylic products. Even if you do not own an acrylic fish tank, chances are something in your tank is, protein...

    opinions on overfeeding?

I feed my brains silversides or krill 2-3 times a week in addition to target feeding them during regular feeding. I also make sure each mouth gets food. If they dont want it they dont take it and I will pull it from the tank.

    Coral growth too fast?

I am still very new with corals and learning as much as I can, but these things come to my mind... Can you posts some pictures of your corals? What size tank? Sump? Fuge? (total gallons) Are you running carbon and/or ozone? What and how often/much do you feed? What type of lighting? Why type of...

try soaking the flakes in garlic juice. brine is relatively empty nutritionally, but some soaking up some of the juice in the flakes may also help

    opinions on overfeeding?

It is my understanding that they wont over eat and what I got from Calfo is that we often starve our corals and not realize it. He told our group ok to feed heavily and do more frequent/bigger water changes. Keep an eye on your water parameters. If the brain is eating feed it! but you may need...

    Ben's Mixed Reef

The first thing that caught my eye was the wireless router. Are you using that for the lights and a wave maker, et al? We have talked about going completely digital on everything to monitor the tanks via computer with the ability to dose whatever we need to dose electronically based on defined...

    Anemone looking bad :(

One of the things Anthony spoke about when he was here is the fact that sometimes we think our corals and nems are doing great and growing when actually they are starving reaching out further looking for food. One of the best things was him validating my nurturing tendencies to feed feed...

    Anemone looking bad :(

Per Calfo, Mike is dead on... and feeding once every three days is, IMO, not enough to supplement the lack of light. I feed mine every day and they are happy campers under 2 250MH. I do put them under t5s a little while after propagating them. Target feed some small bits of silversides and...

Better pic of mystery goby... Anyone?

He is too skinny - you need to fatten him up!:D

    A side note for Anthony...

cycle of harvest yes, the cycle of harvest. (I will get the terminology right eventually)

    A side note for Anthony...

Coral farming and propagation I thought to give you a little chuckle in your busy schedule with Reef Chief's comment, but that went over like a lead balloon. :| Ultimately, I was interested in the prop cycles of trachyphyllia as I couldn't find anything in your book. I will check RC , I...
