    Butterfly Problems

Ok, I'm not to concerned with the semilavartus now. My original concern was from a couple of funny marks on it. I've gotten better looks and they are way to perfectly shaped to be an internal problem. I think it got to close to a powerhead and got sucked in. He's shown no symptoms of not being...

    Butterfly Problems

I'm now thinking of removing my semilavartus and putting it into QT for fattening up. Would this be a good idea. I have increased feeding and I'm starting to feed some different things. I haven't been able to get any supplements yet.

    Butterfly Problems

I found an algae clip that has a sort of plastic netting on it that holds the food in. Is there an easier way to feed. I found that just throwing it in, the fish pick at it, but eventually it gets stuck in a rock and the fish can't find it anymore.

    Butterfly Problems

I'm having an extremely hard time finding any prepared foods that don't include gel binders. I have found a way to feed the gel foods and I try to, but I don't like them for constant feedings. Do you know any brands that have the whole foods without gel binders. Or am I better off with homemade...

Of the non olbigate coralivore butterflies, are there lots that have pods as main source of nourishment.

    Stickies gone wild.

I think that there is still to many stickies in the fish section. With so many stickies, some lose there importance. A simple reference post to where all the sticky posts are would be better. Stickies also makes it to easy to say its in the sticky don't ask. Personal attention is a pro of the...

    Butterfly Problems

    1. When you talk about shrimp, you mean that the head should still be on. 2.Is there something I'm missing with scallops. I thought that the meat is all you can get out of a scallop. Is there more edible parts that stores just don't sell. I figured theres the meat and the shell. Fish can't eat...

    Butterfly Problems

I do agree that I need to get some more rock, I've been upgrading other parts of the system lately, namely the skimmer. What would be a better alternative to mysis. All my frozen food is Hikari. I've alway found Hikari to be good. I haven't tested calcium or magnesium for a while, since I've...

    Butterfly Problems

Something is going on in my tank now. I lost my falcula butterfly last week, and now my semilavartus is looking thin and my klein's has an outbreak of lymphocytis. I'm wondering if my feeding is at fault. I usually feed once a day with either a a couple 1"x1" mysis blocks and a hikari angel or...

    Need to replace light fixture

With T-5's you want a fixture with individual reflectors for each bulb. I'm pretty sure that fixture doesn't have them. The Tek fixture would be a good fixture for what you want. Reefgeek has them for a similar price as that. You also get better bulbs with the Tek.

    Falcula Trouble

Unfortunately I'm out of tanks and room. Is there a good medicated food I can feed. The only solution would be pulling the burgess out of QT, and after having the falcula die. I really don't won't to risk the burgess at all. He was way to hard to get.

    Falcula Trouble

I've been watching the tank like a hawk today and I've been noticing things. My pearlscale has a small bump near his mouth with a bit of red in it. The red looks like a blood vessel. This looks almost similar to the bump the falcula had under its pectoral fin. I have a burgess in QT right now...

    Falcula Trouble

I euthanized it a couple minutes ago. I had gotten stuck to a powerhead. The chances of it recovering where extremely unlikely I think. I'm more concerned about my other butterflies. Right now they all look real good and are eating very well. This hit so fast and hard, I can't think of a thing...

    Falcula Trouble

Its a 3.5" falcula butterfly that I've had for a couple months. It is breathing faster than normal. There are no physical signs like spots or scratches. I came home this morning and found him laying on his side under a rock. Since this started he's been real wary and trying to hide in the...

    build me a tank .........

A Tek T-5 4 bulb fixture from reefgeek will run you about 330$. An octo 150 will be about 170$. A mag 7 pump is about 70$. You should be able to find a used 55g for about 50$. That is a good sized for a sump. You can build a nice refugium in it. Thats 620$, but you don't have any rock and sand...

    Falcula Trouble

I noticed today that my falcula butterfly was acting funny. It was breathing a little faster than normal and it's keeping its fins spread most of the time. It didn't eat when I feed the tank, and that kind of worried me since its a pig. All other fish are fine and eating well. Everything about...

    Need advice on feeding

If he looks nice and healthy why worry. I rarely feed more than once a day and I never use any vitamins. Yet all my fish look good and are presumably healthy. This goes against a lot of stuff I've read.
