    Keeping Torch/Hammer/Frogspawn

I haven't been able to find anything that lets me know how close torch-hammer-frogspawn corals can be kept. Can they be right next to each other and can you go so far as to graft them on where heads on the original colony have died off?

    New 45 gallon rimless

Really nice setup. Have you tested the water for the amonia to keep track of the cycle?

Grass shrimp - where can I get them?

CJG: this is a good source for shore shrimp and fiddler crabs. THey have mysis, pods and plankton as well. I have purchased the live mysis and macroalgae from them. http://www.aquaculturestore.com/swinverts.html

    Oceanic Tech Series 70

What do you plan on keeping? There are lots of options and T5's is certainly a good one. I personally like the open look of the tank on top, that being said I now have a canopy on my 125.

    D70 Question

I have a D70 and use a 1gb microdrive on mine. THe 512 is I believe all that was tested at the time of the manual. I don't shoot raw very often, if I did then the 1gb would even have it's limits.

    Oceanic Tech Series 70

Well...I loved the tank but like most, got the urge to go bigger and got a 125. I really miss the starphire glass and the RR megaflow was great. Here are a pic before I took it down. The plumbing came with the tank and everything went together really easy. The stand had a place for a "case...

    Diagnosis for a clown

Thank you Lee for the responses. I will start the 4 weeks once the 1 week of treatment is up. I have changed the diet of the tank and make it up "fresh' each day. I will experiment with freezing some. Trying to track down locally some of the supplements to augment the food. Thanks again! David

    Diagnosis for a clown

Lee: the clown looks great and 'appears' free of the mucous layer he once had. I was going to complete the 1 week of treatment and then observe him without treatment for another week before re-introducing him back into the DT. Do you think this is an acceptable path forward? Obviously he...

    Diagnosis for a clown

Lee: when I make up the new fish food, how long will it last in a fridge? If you use supplements to augment the food it would seem that it needs to absorb...or do I have this all wrong? Thanks again. David

    Diagnosis for a clown

Is this something that the UV should help minimize the spread?

    Diagnosis for a clown

Ihave had the clown for about 1 1/2 years and this is the first sign of disease for him. It does look a little like sloughing off the skin. I have a QT. Right now it is behaving normally.

    Diagnosis for a clown

Can anyone help diagnose what might be going on with my male clown? He hosts a clump of Xenia so I thought originally that it was just the slime/dirt from the Xenia since he is always in them. This just started the other day and isn't going away. Hope the pic helps, he never goes to see the...

Any suggestions for steering a noob?

Everything sounds goods, interesting choice on the skimmer. WIll be interested to hear if that works out for you. If not, please ask before you buy your next one. Save your Nano's they will come in handy later. I have one that I have used for many different things...holding tank circulation...

    Unusual Tang

Great pic. That is exactly like my first tang. Squeezed into rock crevices that I didn't know it could fit. Spent much more time hiding than out in the open water. I had her for several months and she never stayed out all the time, but then she was a baby and in a 70 gallon. Here is a pic...

Any suggestions for steering a noob?

Welcome to RF. A couple of observations. Tank and fuge set-ups sound great, and the DSB is good to. It appears to me though that your flow is quite low. You said that it is a 75 gallon reef which should have flow of ~greater than 50x/hr. Just the nano's makes the turn-over about 10x. I had...

    Unusual Tang

Tangs seem to like to wedge themselves into tight places, especially when they are new to the tank. Given time your new tang will be a little more outgoing but it will always be a bit on the seemingly timid side. My Atlantic Blue tang does this and when I had a hippo tang it did the same...

    Why the aggression

Paul: I have 1 female Leopard, 1 female Potter's, 1 lubbocks, 1 hawaiian flasher and I think that's it. I have 1 blue atlantic tang...so I am not sure what I will add that is in keeping with what I have. What do you have in your system? Forgot to add that I do have my tank covered on both...

    Why the aggression

I am not aggrivated in the least. I appreciate the input. I consider myself lucky to have the three in the same tank. Unfortunately the blue did not make it. When I upgraded my tank I added the Oolitic Sand to make it easier on the Leopards to bury themselves. Hindsight being a great tool -...
