    Bryopsis/Kent Tech M Question

So in other words you raised your mg leves 50 percent at one time? I do plan to get a test kit. Unfortunately the LFSs I have asked don't have kits for mag so it might take me a while to get my hands on one. I was just wondering if I slowly raise the levels, what's the worst that can happen If...

    Bryopsis/Kent Tech M Question

I have decided to go to battle with the Bryopsis in my tank using Kent Tech M. Unfortunately I don't curently have a test kit for mag so here is my question: How much should I dose daily for a 72g/w 15g sump ( I have been doing 25ml) What happens if my mag levels get to high and what would the...

    Whats your favorite LFS ?

PETCO:D:D:D j/k For fish I would have to go with A Red Sea Aquarium. For Corals I'd give the advantage to Barrier Reef although ARSA is making huge strides in that area. Can't really go wrong with either.

    Its A Bad Bad Day...

Man I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I feel terrible when anything dies in my tank and my GF is in even worse shape. FWIW the fact that you were able to keep those animals alive and healthy for up to six years probably puts you in the top 10 percentile of reefkeepers so don't beat yourself up...

    catching fish

You can sometimes borrow or rent traps from LFS. Also I've heard of people using mirrors. Never tried that one though.

    question for the SCUBA divers

Got my AOW an EANX cert. this year. I am really loving it so far. I am wondering how many of you dive locally and whether anyone would like to meet up for a dive sometime. My problem with finding dive buddies is mainly due to the fact that I usually have time on mondays or evenings. Also have...

    Making Reef Rocks..

I know this isn't possible for landlocked people but being from the puget sound area I would just submerge them in the sound somewhere (tie them to a fishing pier or something) for a few months, then come back and get them. Voila - cured liverock, cost for salt, heaters, waterchanges etc. = 0

Odyssea Light system... Yae or Nay???

I have owned this setup for about 8 months now. I'm still on the original mh bulbs which I'm hoping to replace real soon. I don't really like the color of the bulbs but the growth rate for my corals is good.Hopefully changing to new bulbs will take care of that. The only issue that I've had is...

    lighting question

Reef monkey that link isnt working. What I was referring to is a site where some guy took his tank and tried all kinds of different bulbs on it and took a picture from the same spot with each. That way you could click throught the various bulbs and see how they looked by comparison on the same tank.

    RBTA Question

Ice cubus haven't worked so far and the rock its atached itself to has several sps colonies on it so it's kinda delicate. gonna try the light thing next. I'm kicking myself that I didn't move it when I watched it travel almost the length of the tank along the back glass:evil:

    RBTA Question

I have a RBTA that recently split and while one of them is in a good place the other has settled between two rocks where it is stinging some other corals. I want to remove this one but it has quite the firm grip. any ideas on how to remove it without harming it?

    live rock?

If you want it to significantly contribute to filtration it needs to be as porous as possible.

    Butterfly Question

Oh and by the way, I made absolutely sure that the fish was eating pepared foods before buying it. If it doesn't work I will end up with a cool looking fish with lots of personality. Not really a big downside IMO
