    Electrokate's Hawaiian pix

Great pics, I know enough about photography to know that underwater is as hard as it gets when it comes to getting the correct colors in the photo, so many issues with the sunlight being refracted through the water, depth, and so on. One thing I have been told, btw my underwater pictures blow...

    Coralife Super 125 Protein Skimmer

I have one on my 55 hex, it does well with that, get some nice stinky, dark green mucky mucky with it. It does need regular maintance or it will stop working (every 2-3 days) efficently. It works well on the set up I use it on. On my 125 I use a Tunze skimmer that rocks but it cost a lot more.

Super Glue Gel, removal from Acrylic?

Thank you both, I think I'll try both options as I have 2 acrylic tanks and they are due to get scratched along the way with a 1 and 3 year old. :)

Super Glue Gel, removal from Acrylic?

So I was gluing a shell with some GSP to the back wall of my tank and my daughter grabbed the tip of the super glue tube and got glue all over her hands which she proceeded to smear across one of the front corners of my 55-Hex. I cleaned here up first then attempted to clean as much off the...

Have you ever bought fish in Canada and brought it over the border?

I would just leave it at "I picked up some aquarium fish." You can also try contacting these guys to verify www.cites.org. -Jason You can also contact these people, Canada for Export, US for import, be prepared to be on the phone for a while and try to have the species name of what you plan...

Have you ever bought fish in Canada and brought it over the border?

I live in Blaine and do most of my fish shopping in BC as our stores are less than what they have up there for the time traveled. Corals, inverts and LR is a no go, fish as long as they are legal here are good to go, i.e. no piranah, aisian arrowana as these are legal in BC. Just tell them...

    Refractometers

I agree that you can't go wrong with a refractometer, I have this one: http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=MD2101 it is solid and easy to calibrate and use, also comes with the dropper, screwdriver and case just like the one Pat offered up. Once I received my refractometer I...

Loud clicking coming from my tank

I had a manitis, I would recommend moving the last LR you put in to a place where you could view any caves, watch your tank closely for those creepy buggy eyes, once you have identified the den pull the rock in the morning and use a turkey baster with hot fresh water over a tuperware and start...

    tank cooling

Keep your canopy open or off if you lighting permits when using the fans, keep an eye on your sump level you evaporation will increase, you can then top off with a little bit cooler water than what the tank is to keep up with the evaporation and help keep the heat down. Also if you can shorten...
