    Let's See Some Macros

We finally bought a new camera and now I'm trying to figure out how to actually take some pictures with it. Best I can do so far.

    PSAS Frag trading

We just recently fragged our torch coral and have a 2-headed piece of it that when is open is about 4" or so across. We'd be more than happy to trade it for just about anything other than mushrooms to help diversify our tank!

    Camera suggestion

Hi, I'm just looking for a general Digital camera suggestion that is macro capable and relatively easy to learn that is under 300$. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for the help!

    Guide to fraging RTBA

I have to support Luke here. I had a RBTA anemone that had gotten attacked in my tank and Luke offered to nurse it back to health in one of his tanks since I didn't have the equipment or even the knowledge of how to do it myself. He even graciously gave me and my wife another anemone to help...

    Guide to fraging RTBA

I wouldn't normally get involved into something like this. But it is probably a bit unfair to post pictures without knowing if they are still accurate. After personally seeing the tanks in question I can saw without a doubt that they look extremely healthy and aren't in fact the same as how you...

    Is there a trick to....?

We had a couple mushrooms on a rock that got too close to a powerhead and blew off. Well, we thought they were lost till about a month later when we found a shroom about 3 inches across that had gotten attached in between 2 rocks and is now solidly attached. Is there anything wrong with just...

    Suggestions on better tank setup?

Thats the bad part, we live in a rented duplex so a) I can't really drill holes or anything and b) there is no basement :) I went ahead and organized the cords all tucked behind the tank so that you can't see them anymore and I'm in the process of making a new overflow type system to get rid of...

    Suggestions on better tank setup?

Ok, here is how our tank is set up currently. And no, the power cords don't run over the water or near it at all. They go behind the system to a power strip with timers for the lights. Right now it seems that everythign is just sort of an eyesore with the sump sitting out there on the left. I...

    Damaged BTA

I should probably clarify a bit about our tank. While it has only been set up at our house for about 3-4 months. A large majority of it (75%) or so came from another established tank that was running for about 2 years. Our BTA this morning is moving about some and looks a lot better than...

    Damaged BTA

Yesterday afternoon my wife and I went out and got a BTA for our tank. We acclimated everything and it was looking great when we went to bed. It was fulled extended and generally just looking healthy. Well when we got up this morning, it is half deflated and has two very obvious flesh wounds in...

    Tap Water

My wife and I use tap water out here in Gig Harbor. But from what I've heard our water supply where I live is pretty good. I've gotten in the habit of filling a 33g bucket with water and premixing it there though, not sure if it makes a difference

    Thanks

My wife and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone tonite at the meeting. It was nice meeting some of you all and we learned a lot. Sorry my son was a bit loud at times but 3 1/2 hours is sometimes a bit much for him. Thanks again and we are looking forward to being active with ya'll! Eric...

How do I keep my sandbed clean?

Going to try and post some pictures just to share a bit. Everyone here has been great in explaining this hobby and both my wife and I highly appreciate it! Still trying to figure out how to make the pictures look better but I'm sure that will come with practice. Thanks again!

How do I keep my sandbed clean?

Yep, thats what I figured. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something that I was doing wrong. Probably gonna go out and see what else I can find to improve the flow since right now there really isn't anything. And we do have a sand shifting starfish in the already. He is about 6 inches...

How do I keep my sandbed clean?

Hi, my wife and I have had our tank up for about 2 months now. The biggest problem we are having so far is keeping the sandbed clean. I'm thinking the LR wasn't quite cured when we put it in and that is contributing greatly to the problem. Going to probably take it out today and put it in...

Which lights do I leave on when?

Hi, I just got a new lighting fixture last nite and I am sort of curious about how to set it up all. It is an Odyessa fxiture with four actynic blue bulbs and four 12k bulbs in it. It also has 4 moonlight type fixtures on it. It has three switches so I can set them up on timers to simulate the...

    Painting glass tank backs

I've started painting the back of mine, only I didn't decide to do it until the tank was already up and running. So needless to say it has been quite an endeavor trying to paint the back of it with about 3 inches or so to spare. I'e been using a gloss interior/exterior enamel that looks really...
