    Surf... i took the class a couple years ago, and (going from memory), we looked at various factors at different levels, nitrite, nitrate, sulfur, dissolved O2, phosphate.... sand beds were varying ages and depths, mine was 1 year old in the fuge (low flow) of 6 inches, some had up to 12 cm...

    Mercury poisoning...Help!

    all forms of mercury are toxic. I have no idea what its properties are in salt water, but i would consider it toxic to all life. it absorbs into our skin amazingly fast.... so never pick it up by hand without protection. that being said, the amount in a thermometer probably will not have done...

    I agree...if you prune regularly when it overgrows..it can be a nice addition...the one to avoid is caulerpa I thought mine looked great and i would prune it if it overgrew...here's the result despite pulling out handfuls (i had to take the tank down-the caulerpa was killing my corals)
