    RavineJK's 72G

What are a reefers favorite colors? yellow, light purple and cream! I am almost there on the cycle, nitrates were still present (5-10) but coming down quick. Ammonia = 0 PH = 8.3 Nitrite = 0 Salinity = 1.024 Temp = 80.8 F

    RavineJK's 72G

Yes it is a aqua medic skimmer. I came upon it from my previous tank, received it part of another used setup. I would give it 7 out 10 stars. Takes some tweaking to get setup just right (flow, air, water level) and it doesnt do well with large water level changes, so in a sense it keeps me on...

    Can anyone name this coral

Thanks all. I am fairly confident they were Rhodactis mushrooms now. The only issue was my had hints of pink and purple and would change colors from time to time with intensity. The picture above didn't do them justice. Elephant Ear Mushroom-Green, Giant Mushroom Anemone - Rhodactis mussoides

    Can anyone name this coral

Forgot to mention, for scale they were about 4-5" in diameter. They did look kind of like a mushroom. Pretty sure they aren't Gradis paly. Not sure about the mini maxi anemones.

    Can anyone name this coral

I once had these as stow aways on some live rock and never figured out what they were, but really liked them. Can anyone identify what these are? Sorry, I don't have a better picture. BTW, not the frogspawn, the other green corals.

Nah, the powerheads aren't enough, I will be working on water flow as I pin down the final rock configuration. I have a fairly large powerhead, I think the previous owner had in a corner of the tank, that I haven't installed yet. As for the lights, they are just (2) 150W MH coralife aqualights...

    RavineJK's 72G

Since moving from Virginia recently to Puget Sound, my Wife and I decided the new 12G Nano wouldn't satisfy our reef/fish itch. So, we had an exciting weekend. We started looking around for a tank, and found someone getting out of the hobby right down the street. We picked up a 72G glass reef...

    Adios Skimmer

Well I took the skimmer out and modified it to hold a carbon filter. I have a RIO 200 pumping water from the bottom of the skimmer up through a carbon filter sock, over down and back up again into the last chamber where it gets pumped back into the tank. We'll see how it goes. Definitely like...

Nice tank, I like the rock layout.

    Adios Skimmer

Yes, the skimmer is removable. Not sure if it's a sapphire or not, I bought the tank used. Good idea on the carbon, I'll consider that.

    RavineJK 12G Nano Reef

Hello, we are new to the area, moving from Northern VA. My wife Liz and I have been in and out of reef aquariums for the last 12 years. Unfortunately, moving around a lot. So. keeping a tank for more then a few years has been a challenge. This go round we are starting with a 12G Nano Reef...
