I'd love to see Danni win to. She is one beautiful woman, 37 days in the jungle and she still looks great. Way to skinny of course, but that face......

    Jawfish Woes....

My sand bed is about 5 inches. At least it used to be, now its all over the place. That is intersting about the internal parasite, I once saw him cough up something, I have no idea what it was. He looks great, but is a bit skinny, he eats a bit (frozen mysids, formula one, flake) but not as...

    Jawfish Woes....

Here is my story. my 29 gallon has been set up for a year now and looks great, Marshall island live rock, Aqua C skimmer, CPR hang on the back refugium, CF lighting, and a 5 inch deep sand bed for my jawfish. The other inhabitants are a firefish and a mandarin that loves frozen mysids. Some...

    Disapearing Firefish

All is well! He did spend that day in hiding but now he is out for a good part of the day and eating like a champ. My jawfish has some many holes dug out he probably just took on of the unoccupied ones. He's a cute little bugger.

    Disapearing Firefish

I put a firefish in my tank yesterday, I thought he would be an ideal tankmate for my mandarin and my jawfish. After a nice long acclimation he seemed happy, was out all day and even ate. Now this morning there is no sign of him. I have heard they will hide for a while, but after being out...

    Royal Gramma

Someone told me once that even though they are mellow, they do get territorial at times, and told me that they would not be a good tankmate for my mandarin for that reason. They are from the pseudochromis family I think. I really wanted to get one but for me its all about the mandarin.

    Jumpin' Jawfish

Well, its been 2 days and my blue spot jawfish looks fine. Really makes me wonder how long he was on the floor and how much time did he have left when I found him. I covered all the areas around the light with cardboard, and under my CF lights I put a peice of "hardward cloth" which is a...

    Jumpin' Jawfish

Nothing that I can think of that would cause him to jump, just him and a mandarin in there. Its funny, the past few days he has been out of his hole swimming around, almost like a normal fish. Little did I know he was planning to make a break for it. For now I have a cardboard cover over all...

    Jumpin' Jawfish

Jawfish Update: All day long at work I wondered how he was doing. I got home and looked all around the tank and could not see him (uh oh). Checked the floor, checked the top for a floater, nothing. Then, tucked way back in a new hole there he was, still alive. He is definitly not his...

    Jumpin' Jawfish

so far so good, he actually ate a little bit just now. Amazing, and hour ago he was on the carpet, now he is eating and squaring off with the mandarin just like it never happened. Tonights project is to really seal off the top of the tank.

    Jumpin' Jawfish

I woke up this morning to find my blue spot jawfish on the floor. As I went to pick him up I found he was still alive. I put him back in the tank and now he is upright on the bottom breathing hard. Other than that he dosen't look any worse for wear. I have no idea how long he was out of the...

    Zoos and bioload

I was just wondering how much bioload zoos take up? I have a piece that I like but don't love, and I was wondering if I should keep it or get rid of it for another more colorful piece, providing its not over loading my bioload. Actually, I need to rephrase that, I love it under actinics, not...

    Box Jellyfish...Most venomous!

isn't a marsupial a mammal? I thought it was. I guess I should have said "Worlds only venomous marsupial" But platypus is correct, I guess the males have a claw on their back legs that carries a nasty poison.
