Steve - thanks, I have it floating there right now. I am setting up the little light for them. I have heard to run that light opposite the display light schedule. Is that what you do? Ken, cool - I will check those out and order them. I knew I had to get something, thanks for the advice.

Cool, I just got my chaeto! I read some about it online, I just need to put it in on top of the mud in the fuge, right? Do I need to attach it? I could put some LR in there for it to grab onto...

Yes, I looked to see what you use. I am setting up with them right now. It is my bandwidth, they will only allow a few k per hour for free...

Hey big guy! It is blocking me too, I think it may be the bandwidth on my cheapo yahoo geocities web service. A free hosted website probably only provides very, very limited bandwidth. Let me see what I can do about that...

Thanks Ken. I have been looking online for a good test kit. I have one of those Saltwater Masters kits, but it does not test for calcium... Gaby, thank you. I have the CPR bak-pak2 skimmer, it works pretty good. I also have a big hang-on one that came with my sump setup. I also have one of...

Hello - Krish made a great suggestion that I start a "showcase" thread for my tank. Here is what it looked like at the beginning: Here is what it looks like today:

OK thanks, I thought maybe I should place something in that chamber since I will not be using the Bioballs.

    Sump/Fuge setup

Sounds good. When I bring it online, I will make sure and hook something up to that and have a bucket or something ready! Do you have anything in your entry chamber on your sump? Like LR or something. I have some that I could put in there or with the mud. I have 25 lbs. that has been...

    Sump/Fuge setup

Thanks, you are correct. I got in touch with someone over at the LFS and he confirmed that is exactly what it is for. You are a never ending vault of information, my friend!

    Sump/Fuge setup

The protein skimmer that came with this setup is missing something called the 'cape pipe'. It appears to be a tube that goes from a hole in the skimmer collection cup. It does not show the tube attaching to anything else. Does anyone know what this is? I have a call into the manufacturer...

    Sump/Fuge setup

Yeeeeeeehaaaaaaw!!! That did it! I turned the U tube around, so the longer side was in the prefilter and I sucked until the majority of the air was gone. I turned on the return and it took a few seconds for the prefilter to catch-up, but it did. Thanks very, very much! Now it is by far...

    Sump/Fuge setup

I have the right hose. The prefilter hose has not been touched since I connected it the prefilter/overflow box and the bulkhead on the sump. I am trying to get ALL of the air out the U tube. Not that easy, I keep getting a mouthful, LOL! I need to try again, BRB!!@!@U!*

    Sump/Fuge setup

Yes, I made sure I have the right hose. The other is attached to the prefilter/overflow to the bulkhead on the sump. The return is attached to the pump in the return chamber leading to the nozzle attachment with siphon hole which is in the display. That part seems to be working well, when I...

    Sump/Fuge setup

Sorry, the return chamber on the sump was drained. No, the U tube is not completely air free. I just sucked enough to start the suction and run to the sink and spit! Maybe that is the problem? Do I need to make sure zero air is in that U tube?
