If it's red and fuzzy (like cotton balls), the only think I found that eats it is turbo snails. I get out breaks when I loose all my turbos. I haven't seen it grow on live things before.
I have heard mixed reviews for mixed reef tanks long term. I have read that hight light corals love them, but softies and LPS not so much. I'm sticking with MH for now, they work for me. I have enough issues keeping corals alive. :)
I use to add vinegar to my kalkwasser dosing to make it more potent. Too much vinegar will cause an algae bloom, but your talking about a small amount and that shouldn't cause any issues...
Looks like you have a good start. BTW, the green zoas look like radioactive dragon eyes, not sure about the other. The "daisy polyp" is Green Star Polyp or GSP.
Welcome to RF... :)
I agree with Todd.
I would think you could at least temporarily support it for 5-6 months. Since your moving anyway. Then you only have to stress your tank once.
I did move my tank to another room about 6-8 months ago. I put all the corals in tubs and buckets and drained just enough water that I could move it and leave the fish in the tank. It did stress the tank and I did have a couple SPS corals that didn't make it. I think it might have been that...
What about a DC to AC Power Inverter hooked up to a car battery? I looked at the UPSs and I don't think they would last long enough. I found an inverter on Amazon for like $25. Just another thought... :)
Would a UPS have enough power to last that long for a powerhead and\or heater??? Maybe one for the powerhead and one for the heater???
And I guess an extention cord wouldn't reach from your building to mine (im in 36). :)
Do you have a link to an article? I tried searching but wasn't able to find one. I'd like more details. I believe reef sharks are one of the more aggressive varieties.
