    Concerned

I have one similar to this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Aqua-Reef-RO-DI-Reverse-Osmosis-Water-Filtration-System_W0QQitemZ380197281128QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5885861d68 Mine did have a couple connection leaks when I first set it up that I had to reseal. But it has been a good...

    Red Velvet Algae

I use to have it also, from what I read (and confirmed at BR) only mexican turbo snails will eat it. I bought a couple and haven't seen it since, except in my sump. I need to move one down there, I'm lazy. :)

I agree about the RO/DI, but you could get filtered water from Safeway. Kind of a hassle but cheap to get you going. Don't ever use tap water, been there done that. :) It'll only cause you unnecessary issues.

    Anyone ever used this?

Used no, new yes. If I remeber correctly, the retail on those is like $250-$300. I paid half that for a new one and it included a prefilter and overflow. I'd see if you can get him down.

    Anyone ever used this?

I have one that I modified. I removed the bio-balls and foam and added acrylic to separate the middle and pump sections. I have sand and plants in the middle. The skimmer works OK. I wouldn't pay full price for it, I got a sceaming deal on mine. :)

    Distortion

I had a 55 gal and it wasn't bad either. It's the radius corners that distorts, stare at the corners long enough and it'll give you a headache. :)

    Anemone help

I use to use brine and then switched to silversides. Mine like the silversides better and I think they offer more protien. You should break the silversides into chuncks and feed them once a week. Any more and they will grow like crazy.

    Anemone help

A BTA could be higher up on your rocks and getting more light. So yes. But you can also help it be happy by feeding silversides. Do you feed it?

    Anemone help

My BTAs don't move (atleast untill they split). :) I would agree with that's not enough light. My BTAs are at the bottom of my rockwork under 250w MH.

Where do you buy your clams?

I got my crocea from BRA. I have had it for a couple of years and is very healthy. My other clams I got from local reefers.

    iroll253's 29

That's a real nice setup you have there. I upgraded from a 55 to a 125 about a year ago. For some things, it is nice having a bigger tank. More space. But it's a lot more work. I guess maybe I'm just lazy. :)

    fish for my 2.5 gal

I have a 3 gallon with mushrooms and zoas. I had a fish in there for a short time and it just caused issues. Algae blooms, etc. It was just too much waste for such a small volume of water. I suppose you might be able to make it work if you had a skimmer. But it is just too small for a fish...

Clown Spawn in my display tank need info on feeding

I don't think you could suck them out. They usually are stuck pretty good to the rocks. But then again I haven't tried. :) My clowns use to lay eggs on a rock that I can easily remove. You can suck them out when they hatch. They are drawn to light, so they swarm the beam of a flashlight...

Clown Spawn in my display tank need info on feeding

Not with fish in the same tank. My clowns lay eggs a lot. I can always tell when they hatch, all the fish are out swimming frantically (eating) when the lights are out. Even mom and dad enjoy the live food. :) They hatch about an hour after lights out. I tried once to keep them alive in...

Ah, thanks. I was wondering about that... :) Any full tank shots of your seahorse tank?

    Just sharing

How are the seahorses doing? I thought they couldn't be in a mixed reef tank due to the amount of flow needed for the reef, where seahorses could only tolerate low flow???

    Tank Building DIY

I was also thinking about doing the same thing. It's a great idea. I have seen a build thread for a guy that built one out of a very small (5 gallons, I think) tank. He put in a divider. Sorry, I can't find a link to it off hand. But it was either here or another site. Let me know if you...

Any update on the fish? I'm interested... :)

    Red Slime

Why 1/2 strength? The box claims you can dose again in 48 hours if needed. It also says you can dose it on a regular basis (monthly) if needed.
