    Dimming a Turbelle Stream

Don, even with inductive 3-way dimmers?

    Dimming a Turbelle Stream

Yup, I think I know which one you are talking about (Don's Ocelot/SEC16 setup) but that thing is capable of controlling most of my two houses! j/k.... I am simply looking for something 'lighter' as a project. Heck.... I think I'm gonna take the plunge and play with dimmers on the pump...

Noone has any input on an attempt on this matter? No positive, and no negative feed-back?

    Dimming a Turbelle Stream

Yup, you are right, the 6000, 6100 and 6200 are indeed controlled (they can be dialed-up/down between 100%-30%, or pulse etc) by a 24V 'driver' as Tunze calls it. The 6060 & 6080's however are not controlled/driven by such a device. They operate in an ON/OFF fashion, driven by pure house...

    Dimming a Turbelle Stream

Hi all, I have gotten my paws on some bargain priced Tunze Turbelle Streams 6060. Tunze makes no controller for these pumps, so in simple terms, I need to be able to 'dim' them down and then turn them back on to 100% since I think they are Synch AC motors, I am afraid to just try a dimmer...

    Water top-off tank with automation

Hi Don, I must admitt that all this sounds amazing. I have little to no knowledge on these topics however and I would like to educate myself a bit. Can you suggest a link so I can start reading up on the topic of tank automation with these controllers and I/O modules? I got my paws on the...

Looking for a Basic Fip-Flop Circuit

It is looking great! Thanks to all your help I think I will get carried away here. Anyhow, I have two NewJet 2300 l/h with eductors that I needed to control in the first place but while doing this, I came across the Maxi-Jet 'Stream' mod thread here at RF so I figured I put them on the...

    Buildin a 350g glass tank

Hi there Joe! I can't say I have built such a large tank, but I've built both my 400L and 600L tanks. I have used example C from your choices. A little more info: - You want the side panels to be sitting ontop of the bottom panel and its much easier when putting it all together. - We use...

Scooty CYPM DonW thanks for all m8... You guys are great!

Looking for a Basic Fip-Flop Circuit

Scooterman thanks for the offer. The pumps are 55W, with 230V that gives me around 250mA current draw under normal operation. I would up that X10 for the initial 'kick-in' of the pump and say 2,5A. Looking around at relays, they are rated at 5A for 230V on the average, which by far covers the...

Looking for a Basic Fip-Flop Circuit

Thanks for all the help Don. Now all that is left, is for you to make me a couple of those and send them to me   J/K... I think I have all the pieces now, and am looking into online shops to get the necessary parts (check your PM) so to get things rolling. Will update...

Looking for a Basic Fip-Flop Circuit

OK gotcha with the DPDT relay! Sweet set-up then... :D Our power outlets use a single pair of cables that give us 220-230V single phase. There is a third cable for ground.Don't let the 230V confuse you, it's setup just like yours, just that it gives out double the voltage and slightly...

Looking for a Basic Fip-Flop Circuit

Well, I must admit that what you wrote (dpdt relay, spst relay etc) went waaaay over my head  so I spend some serious time on Google today! Taking a crack at what you said, and running the risk of turning this thread into Electrics 101: The cyclic timer will the low-voltage...

Looking for a Basic Fip-Flop Circuit

Yup I get 230V Maxi-Jets. Actually all my pumps are 230V, for us, the 110V ones are considered 'special' :p Actually once I set this diy wavemaker up properly, I will plug two New-Jets 2300 on it, and get the Maxi-Jets a Turbelle Stream-like DIY mod with props etc... The New-Jets are...

Looking for a Basic Fip-Flop Circuit

Oups... that what I get for being 7-10 hrs ahead of everyone. As I get ready to hit the sack, you guys are full force at it!... Thanks for all the responses! DonW, yep you got me, it is a cheap DIY wavemaker I am aiming for. I am starting with Maxi Jets since they are the most rugged...

Looking for a Basic Fip-Flop Circuit

Hi all, I am looking for a basic solid state circuit (without a noisy relay) that will allow me to switch (flip-flop) the 230V power input, between two different outputs continuosly. ie: Get 230V input and give the entire 230V to the 1st output for 1 min, and then switch the 230V output to...
