    A Sediment substrate that works

Yeah Mike spill it. I am about to commit the sand sin and would like some more info on how this system is working. I love my BB but I sure miss soft tissue brains and some nematodes never hurt anyone. -Erik

    Refugium education.

I am not certain of the exact spp. But it is just a thin tubular macro growing in a mat, like a large green brillow-pad. It's great for pod housing.

    Refugium education.

Hey Don, there is some interesting info in Anothy and Bob's new book on this topic. They list a myriad of prospective macros and the individual growth rates and risk of each. If want to borrow my copy you are welcome to it. Just as a personal note I use cheatomorpha and a 55watt PC light. I...

    150w HQI over a 10g

    150w HQI over a 10g

Please don't attack me for my views Waterdogs, I made no inferences into your character based on your post. I simply stated something that bothers me and I appreciate Don's want to discuss it rather then judge me as arrogant. -Erik

    150w HQI over a 10g

I don't Don. I personally look at the quality of the light before hand (lumens/par to watts such as MH vs VHO ect), the height of the tank, the needs of the corals I plan to house and the temperature makeup of the bulb. On could measure light using such things as Lumens, lux, par, Kelvin...

    150w HQI over a 10g

Looks like a good deal to me Tony. Waterdogs: Watt's per gallon is meaningless, let's squash that one folks. How about: Tight of lighting, Par, wattage, color temp and depth of tank for a good measure of lighting. Sorry for the random rant, just a little pet peave of mine. -Erik

    Filter sock

DonW, I too am against constant running of filter socks on the drain line. I will put one on once a week or so when I hose down the rocks and kick up detritus, but outside of that, I find far too many pods in there to leave it on, and imagine all the shrimp eggs and planktors that get caught...

    New Chat Time Tonight

With all the struggles, perhaps we should look into a java chat portal to link to our irc chat. Though this can be somewhat of a hastle to monitor, I would much rather put in a little more effort to keep out chat running smoothly, than find out that any of you could not make it simply because we...
