(Another) Arduino Light Controller DIY build.

No trick to getting it working, I'm confused why your asking about LCD pins when talking about the temp probe. You can test your code via serial then work on LCD. Never the less... take a look at this. bildr » One Wire Digital Temperature. DS18B20 + Arduino Also if you go here I can give you...

    Anenome question

Just leave him alone is the best I could say... Make sure he has light and your water is good. They will come out and move around. I have one that is 11" and only feed him brine and small soft foods so your not starving him. He may be stressed out from you trying to feed him large chunks of food...

DIY LED build machined from billet alluminum

Awesome, I just run the CNC as another hobby. I am self taught but have used Mastercam since 2004, started with MC 9. I'm still learning on it. I have my CNC in my garage so I have to design, and machine everything I make. Its been fun =] I will probably stick with X3 since I have a copy of it...

DIY LED build machined from billet alluminum

Also, how do you like BobCAD? I have been using MasterCAM X3 but the 3d machining programing drives me crazy. Maybe because I suck at using it but thought about using Alibre

DIY LED build machined from billet alluminum

Gary, awesome, I need to add an indexing sensor to my spindle to be able to use rigid tapping. I could buy a floating tapping head but I think the rigid tapping would be a better choice.

Tank pump control and maybe more...

Well I finely got time to mount the controller, and thought I would throw up a few pics. I still want to edit the program a little and that will be easy with my external programing port. Controller on the door, and power strip on the inside of the stand. Full sump.... controller is running...

NICE, I like it. Want to loan me a Kurt vise :-P I wish I had flood coolant on my mill. Did you use the CNC for tapping as well?

Gary, you should post up some machining videos when you do this. I'm guessing you are doing this with a CNC not a manual right? If so what kind of CNC do you have? I converted a ZX-45 clone to CNC, it's an awesome tool to have.

Tank pump control and maybe more...

I got it all closed up and running the power heads in the tank and monitoring temp /ph... I have found a few things I want to change in the programming... I want to add a few different types of surge mode. I wand a day and night mode and also a random mode. I also need to get it out mounted and...

I'm reading up on it all now, I have never looked at mag because i cant seem to find a test for it.

    pH wong go over 8

I have my alk at 10 and cal over 420ppm but came seem to get my pH over 8.0. I recently added a probe to my tank that showed my pH was at 7.6, and I have adjusted to 8. Should I be worried or change anything to get it to 8.2-4? I'm sure this explains why I had issues with SPS corals maybe....

    preventimg ich

QT, QT, QT.... and drip acclimate plus add the fish and inverts in dry with a net. The reason for the QT is not only Ich but any other parasites or diseases the fish may have. This gives you time to see anyhting that may come up befor you add him to you main DT.

    Running an exterior pump

Some of the external pumps will destroy themselves if you run them without being primed. Just drill the sump and in the end you can always plug it back up if you want. You can add a valve after the exit port from the sump to the pump so you can cut off flow and remove the pump if needed.

    No coralline algae growth

I love coraline... I don't scrape the back of the tank and it has taken over, get something metal and just scratch at the coraline you do have and let it float around the tank. No need to turn the pumps off. So if you just keep your Cal level right and everything else it till grow. It is slow...

Tank pump control and maybe more...

Yeah I keep adding things and slowly taking them all up. I have a way to add more if I need but it wont be easy. I'm using the 4 wire but should convert to the 2 wire, maybe. The pH board I have came from here Atlas-Scientific pH If you order one DO NOT solder the pins or bend them... that is...

Tank pump control and maybe more...

Well I finaly ordered a Real Time Clock so now I can add a stepper motor for dosing or feeding if I want. Also I can now control lights or really anything I want to only run at set times of the day now. In the end I have the Ethernet, SD, LCD, RTC, 6 Relays, 3 pots, 4 menu buttons, PH probe...
