    LED light comparison?

I would just stay away from LED's and stick to T5's...i've used various LED setups on about a dozen tanks all with the same effect...poor coral response overall...for small tanks and large alike, T5s are more then enough...JMO

    Vortech Magnet wear

it seems like if they're not set on constant that they wear out much faster. We set off of our clients on whatever that pulse mode is (blue..haha) and they seemed to really take its toll on them. The new ones definitely run better though I will say that. Aside from size, I've been using the...

    Vortech Magnet wear

you have to send back the impeller assembly in order not to get charged so hang on to it...they will include a return package and instructions. They look at the parts to see what the cause is on all damaged/defective products (so as to improve upon design)

    Vortech Magnet wear

They are definitely quick to replace them. Just make sure to have the serial number on hand when you call them. The new ones appear to be of a "better" quality. They should be for the price. I believe I talked to Jeff both times I called and he was very helpful.

    Vortech Magnet wear

it's about 75 to replace the wet assemblies...the first two generation wet assemblies wear out after about a year. They rust and bubble. I've been replacing them for the last two weeks on most of my client's tanks. I was disappointed at the amount and speed at which these rust out. The newer...

    LED vs T-5

if you are just using them for some night viewing they will probably work alright. I've worked with alot of the LED units (8 reef tanks fully lit by LED's...all over 180g tanks) and if you plan on using them to replace your current lighting I'd say hold off a bit. In the long term, IME the LED...

    Wet Pets Hawaii-Amazing Fish

Just felt the need to make a comment about the amazing fish I recieved from Les at WPH. I had been searching for a beautiful flame wrasse pair for a couple of months now and the pair he sent me could not have been more perfect. Euphyllia eating flatworms!!

I'm going to first apologize for not including a picture. About a month ago I put a beautiful 15 head torch colony in a customer's tank. They had another small hammer frag in the tank as well. A week after the torch went in, the hammer just blew apart. Two weeks later, the torch colony...

who makes custom made glass tank in the area?

as far as glass cages is concerned, they have quite possibly the worst customer service. When I placed the order, you would have thought I was asking them to do brain surgery when I asked to move the location of the overflows, then it took nearly 2 months longer then they said it would take...

How do you keep KH up?

that does seem like alot to drop in a day unless it's a heavily stocked tank...like cali reef said check your mg (this is really important to keep levels in balance)...are you dosing strontium at all? Strontium can cause a lose in alk if they're dosed right after each other or if your strontium...

    Sponges

it looks like sponges to me...i wouldn't worry about them affecting the coral at all If you have any concerns you can always scrape them off with a razor blade or the like

    is this bad?

i wouldn't be to worried...i've had lots of things end up in my tank from my 3 year old and my own personal neglect and it usually ends up being ok...
