    Considering some Lionfish

I have a voltan i've had for 8 years, he is 15" and i've kept him in a 75, not much room for anything else, doesn't need much light. His first 7 years were under regular daylight & actinic flourescent. He eats silversides about 4 or 5 twice a week. He is a character and spits water out of the...

I am finally ready to get started on my tank thread, it's been quite the learning process so far, and I really appreciate everyone here and in the PSAS for all the mentoring. Just finished my first frag swap yesterday, what a zoo but a great time. Even picked up a Bob Moore frag. So here we...

    scratch removal, arcylic

I just did my 120 gallon acrylic. I have an orbital sander that I used 400 grit to get out the deeper scratches and pits, change the discs often they fill up with acrylic, then I bought 3M buffing compound for fiberglass (marine store) and soft bonnets on the orbital, that takes it to a light...

    reef sculptures (cancun, mexico)

One hurricane and those are toast... I've gone diving several times down there and seen what it can devastate, and how much sand can be moved.. That would be really freaky on a night dive!

    Sanding a tank

I finished my 120 last month, used an orbital da with 400, change frequently the pads fill with acrylic pretty fast... takes out any scratch, then used rubbing compound (check the marine stores for fiberglass rubbing compound) with the DA again and a soft pad, the final polish with acrylic...

    Hello all question on Lighting.

Or just put it towards one end and have that be shady for non-photosynths or lower light. The problem with T-5 is it covers the whole tank so you can't add mh.

    Closed loop info

i just finished my 120 acrylic. You will need an intake to go to the pump maybe 2 depending on the size of pump, I have a dolphin 3000, with a 1" intake and 1 1/2" output. My output is split off the pump to 2-1" outs, one goes to a bottom lockline distributing across the bottom, the other goes...

    Aptasia-X

It worked for me on a couple of them, I had 3 anenome (milano or aptasia unsure), fed it to them, and they disappeared and the zoas are growing over the spots. Could it be they already had little spawn and that we are only killing the large one..?

    bristleworm clam killer?

I had a similar thing happen, I noticed my clam upside down, put him back but it appeared something had been munching on him. I noticed a bristle worm, but the culprit was my snowflake eel, he ate every last drop of the clam the next night.
