    Happy Fourth Boom!

As the police, anything that goes "boom" no offense, tightens my short and curlies, but after a week of school about these things, its frightening to see how easy these things are to produce. Especially peroxide based.

    Happy Fourth Boom!

Hey Boom, whats the scariest stuff to work with. Common names will suffice since I do not have EOD experience, Mike.

    HELP----melting xenia!!!!

Lighting issues can go either way. A lot of us mistake xenia for anthelia. Their lighting needs are a little different. They thrive in nutrient rich tanks. No direct feedings are needed.

    Happy Fourth Boom!

Speaking of drunken stories. A place I lived at had a sand pit (small bonfires)in the back, which was about 4' deep. We used to jump off the back of the place which was 20' high and no problems. Well we had a big party one night and it had been in the low 30F's for the past two nights. It had...

    mixing shrimp

Could it be that the two you already have become a "mated" pair? I know they are "its" once it comes to sexing, and that they take turns pitching and catching but it's not out of the realm of possibilty that they have paired up and will not let any outsiders in. As for other species, should not...

Newbies guide to the nano reef

Stonogobiops yasha ....no it's not a rash, but a relative newcommer to the landlocked reef display. I chose this goby as the first of many, because it seems to be as popular as leg warmers were in the 80's, curses upon Flashdance. It's coloring and pattern of a candy cane with yellowed...

    HELP----melting xenia!!!!

Not just xenids, but most soft corals seem to "perk up" with iodine supplements. It's not direct application but what these corals can draw from the water column. Most of these observations are done by people like you and I and this is disseminated through various mediums. I am going to make a...

    HELP----melting xenia!!!!

Kent marine is a diluted form of potassium iodide. After reading some literature, I'll sum up the use of iodine in the reef tank: celluar activity on all levels (single celled organisms to complex organisms ie fish) are hard at work doing what cells do, living, growing, producing stuff that is...

    HELP----melting xenia!!!!

Iodine is tricky. What kind of iodine are you using? How many gallons of water is in your tank, not capacity. Iodine is a powerful oxidant but too much will lead to A. nuisance algae outbreak B. more then A will poison your inhabitants. Every living thing uses iodine/iodide, in minute amounts...

    dust

We did a walkout from NIU, for my fraternity. I was one of four actives to get kidnapped (literally) and we went there for the weekend. Remember waking up in the morning after the first night in the volley ball pit. Covered in red "dirt". Oh well, nobody got locked up. I only have a HS diploma...
