Pix of Giant hairy mushroom feeding like the pig that he is :)

Great pics! Hey seamonster, I also have one of these and have seen it called an Atlantic green mushroom. I have one that is about 14" in diameter. I have never seen mine try to eat a fish even though my clowns have tried to host with it. I feed mine a couple times a week, any frozen food is...

    Brittle stars in power head?

I have brittle stars in every crevasse I can find. If a few get pureed hundreds more will take their place!

    Dropsy

Dropsy is a swim bladder issue. Golbys don't have swim bladders. Just a note here. I have a couple golbys that if not feed enough nori will gorge themselves on coral sand, "they definitely look prego at this time" don't know why they do this. "Then they manage to poop coral sand all over my...

I recall having thoughts like this............. Then they started random testing at work so you will have to figure this one out on your own.

looking for chiton species suggestions while I move along in my own personal search

Just a note about Chitons. I have one that is about the size of a standard computer mouse. It was a hitchhiker about 3 years ago and has been totally reef safe with the exception of actually rasping grooves in an acrylic tank while trying to eat the coraline algae. I would only keep them in a...

    Christmas trees near the tank....

Tree should be no problem. Glass cleaner, carpet cleaner, paint fumes and other chemicals can be an issue, particularly if you have a skimmer or air pump sucking air from inside the room the chemicals are in. PS Happy New Year.... hehehe

    got copper for qt tank

Hey Trillyen, No, 1.009 will not hurt your fish. However you will need to keep an eye on PH as it will drop to low levels at that salinity because the water doesn't have enough buffer to maintain it. If you are talking about lymphosystis... this is a virus that will normally go away with good...

    New frogfish

From the picture I would say its one of the many variations of Antennarius Pictus Don't use copper with Frogfish. However, they are quite disease resistant. Cool looking fish good luck with it.

    Tales from the Crypt-ocaryon

Hey Steve, This fish has been at 12 ppt for OVER 3 MONTHS now and the crypt still comes and goes. I have meticulously stayed on top of all parameters. Crypt seems to be very resistant to hypo. Do you have any advise before I resort to Cupramine? Thanks Much

    Tales from the Crypt-ocaryon

Hi Steve, Thanks for your reply. Sorry don't know how to post quotes from your post so I will try and answer your questions. 1: I don't own a hydrometer, it was the refractometers I checked for accuracy. I have been "extremely" diligent at maintaining the salinity at 12 ppt. 2: The spots are...
