    something a little different?

freetareef, the larger sculptures do take longer to cure. In my experience, if you place a power head or a bubble stone in the curing tank this will help as it forces water through the rock.

Need help with a remote fuge design

I would say about 6" or more is good. One reason I would use the finer substrate is that it will lessen the amount of detritus that can get stuck in it. I see nothing wrong with having a separate chamber for the rock, and If your thinking about having sponges on it or a cryptic zone, I think...

Need help with a remote fuge design

Just thinking about your frag tank thread... Have you thought about using a tee with two valves in front of the frag tank in order to isolate the frag tank if you have to for some reason? What are the dimensions of the 80gal.? How many fish do you have now(bio load)? Some opinions: Deep. You...

    Bracing A 48" Stand

Good piont. Now that I think about it, I have a damn fine skill saw. I could just slap on a guide to it, make a few passes, and that would make my groove! How could I make the tounge with the router? Clamp a piece of wood to my material to use as a strait edge/guide for the router?

    Bracing A 48" Stand

Scooter, Im looking for his threads, but most of his older pics are gone. Don, I dont have a table saw... so no dado either. How about biscuts? I may be able to get accese to a cutter. I can see where your going with the dado and that sounds nice. I will have to call around and see if anyone...

    Bracing A 48" Stand

Speaking to my heart... Im covered in dust right now from sanding drywall compound... So what your saying is that I can cut up a few sheets, screw it together to form a box of sorts, and have a sturdy stand?

    Bracing A 48" Stand

Sounds like that ought to do the trick. If I have to go to the hardware store for the 337th time this week I will just get enough material to skin the outer edge of the front too and include a huge lift out panel in order to give it a finished look. When I started thinking about this stand I...

    Bracing A 48" Stand

Yeah fishy, I hear ya. I DO NOT want a rhomboid/parallelogram. Skin will be the way to go. I will skin all four sides, the front skin will just be aesthetic.

    My new work tank

That pico tank was pretty incredible, this tank should allow you greater flexibility though with four times the water volume. Hope to see new pics soon.
