    Well... Ultimately it’s your decision, but taking that wall out might shift the sand enough to cause it to cloud up again. Plus, with propping up the pump means you’ll really have to keep an eye your evaporation rate.

    With more water than usual coming out of the skimmer seems to indicate to me that less air is being introduced into the pump. Meaning the pump is pumping more water than a mixture of water and air, which would seem to indicate that there’s some form of air blockage. I’d say give the soaking...
