    Double Saddle Butterfly

Do you guys have one of these in stock now, or can get one soon? I'd like to pick one up. Either Chaetodon ulietensis or C. falcula is fine, though I think I prefer falcula due to past experience with this fish (it ate aiptasia and didn't bother corals or clams).

    new arrivals 3/7-3/11

It looks like I'll no longer need a Klein's butterfly. Although I've not witnessed it yet, it's become apparent that the Falcula butterfly I got from you last week is eating aiptasia now. They're practically all gone already. I've also found that he likes to eat blood worms, though ignores...

Any update on a Klein's Butterfly that I asked about last week?

new arrivals for the week of 2/28-3/4

Just picked up one of the double saddle butterfly fish today. I can confirm mine is Chaetodon falcula, not C. ulietensis. I'm hoping mine eats aiptasia/majano. So far I've seen him peck at various zoanthids, stylophora and pocillopora, but isn't doing any serious damage. He pecks once, and moves...

    Arrivals 2/24

Cool thanks a lot. Is there another butterfly (or other fish) that you've had better luck with for aiptasia control? I've read aurigas (aka threadfin) can do a good job as well. I haven't read anything about Pakistani butterflies eating aiptasia. I have read that they can be hard to get to eat...

    Arrivals 2/24

I'm looking for a Klein's butterfly for aiptasia control. You guys have any in stock? I'm having a hard time fighting these. My red coris wrasse eats peppermint shrimp and berghia, so those two solutions are a no go for me. I like the wrasse too much to get rid of him. I tried a longnose...

Do you still have the longnose butterfly? What's the size and price if so? I'm very interested in one of these.

Is the volitan lion a part of the cleaning crew in the sense that it will clean up small fish? :)

    Copperbands?

Cool, thanks Cy. I might swig by tomorrow after work.

    Copperbands?

You guys have any CBBs in stock? I'm fighting a losing battle with aiptasia. Since I have a red coris wrasse, I can't use peppermints. I tried berghia, but I think the wrasse ate those, too. I'm not yet willing to get rid of the wrasse, he's an awesome looking fish. I've tried a racoon...

    Orange SHoulder Tangs

Don't know if they get streamers. Here's a good shot of one I saw in Hawaii.

    hammerhead float

I didn't have much luck with a mighty mag and dozer pad on my 55g acrylic. It was better than other methods I tried, but was still a losing battle. I ended up upgrading to a bigger tank and went with glass. My tank was turning into a small potholes window due to coralline encircling it. Never...

Buying from websites, I'm new to saltwater

I don't think this is true. I know that LiveAquaria ships most fish from Los Angeles. Not much in the water around LA that I'd want in my tank. I think most other online fish suppliers in the US do the same. There are some that ship from Hawaii direct to you, but then you're only getting Hawaii...

    Clowns Just laid eggs

Congrats! My perculas just started laying eggs about 6 weeks ago after being together in my tank for over 4 years. I haven't tried to raise the babies, looks like too much work for me.

    Fish id

I've had one in my tank for about 2 years. It definitely will kill hermit crabs and shrimp, even cleaner shrimp. It may also peck at snails, especially fleshy ones like nassarius, though I don't think I've ever seen mine kill one. Astreas seem nearly impervious to this wrasse though. They're too...

    Turbo's eating coralline

This sounds like a great problem to have. I'd count yourself lucky and not worry about it.

    Interesting clownfish behavior

I've had my percula pair for 5 years and my male is by far the more aggressive. They finally started laying eggs a few weeks ago, but the male has always been the aggressive one, biting my hand when it gets near his home. The female is quite peaceful and will eat nori from my hand. She doesn't...

    Fire shrimp eat bristleworms?

Last night while I was acclimating some berghias, I noticed a hermit crab outside his shell. I'd never seen that before so I watched him for a bit. He was cleaning debris out of the shell, which included a small bristleworm (around 1" long). As he was doing this, one of my fire shrimp...
