I think your tank is looking great. Patience is key, and dont try to rush things.. It takes things a while to start spreading, and if you keep going the way you are.. one day you'll be sitting back, looking at your tank.. and say MAN... MY TANK IS TO FULL TO PUT ANOTHER THING IN IT , gonna...

    Lighting for refugiums

I agree with ROWA.. I use a 10 gallon plastic light fixture with 2 daylight temp "Curly Cue" 13 watt flouresant bulb. My cheato grows like crazy! (bulbs at Home Depot are only 4 bucks!):D My lights are left on 24/7 (unless the power goes out!)

I dont know what kind of experience you have with the clear u tubes.. but mine is anything but good. They are always growing unwanted algae.. which release and catch oxygen bubbles.. slowly losing siphon.. I swithed to solid pvc.. (made my own) and I have not lost suction due to algae build up...

Im sorry to hear of your setback:cry: , but on a brighter note... I guess its a good thing it happened now, rather that later when everthing was together.. However, its good to know that acrylic wont work, because I thought of possibly doing mine out of the same thing. It looks cool.. but I...

Hey Don, What size stepper motors are you going to use?? Will the 110 oz/in model (in your post earlier) will they have enough "oomph" to pull / push the set up W/ the extra weight of the cutter your using? You also made mention that you are building yours a bit different than the plans...

    Help w 75gallon tank

My thoughts I dont have any experience with that particular skimmer, and I am sure someone will chime in with recomendations on that. As far as a sump/fuge size goes, a 15 - 20 gallon aquarium would sufice, as long as you partitioned it off correctly. I know there is a lot of varied opinons...
