Do you mean that the fish should get 0.45mg pure praziquatel per kilo? How often and how many times or is this the total amount of the whole treatment?

    Fish disease ID

As I understand we should be concerned not to kill too much worms at once. I guess this could be controlled by the amount/concentration in one time dosis. Relating to the use of praziquantel with food I found out the recommendation for Discus (freshwater): 4-5 mg of praziquantel should be mixed...

    Fish disease ID

There is a good site http://www.rhusmann.de/aqua/medikame.htm in german for many meds produced mainly in Germany. Not sure how widely those are known and used in US. Sorry to tell, but the sick Chromis died yesterday. :( The wound or lesion near the gills almost healed, but it still didn't eat...

    Fish disease ID

I'm going to use one of following Gyromarin or Preis Coly. The latter contains only natural herbs like garlic, malva etc. It may be not that effective as Gyromarin (praziquantel)? I sent a query to both manufactures and asked are they sure their product would be safe for marine invertebrates. I...

Here are attached feces samples microscope photos. The first has 100x magnification, others 400x. There are two suspectible objects that could be worms or parts of them. Could anybody ID them?

    Fish disease ID

Thanks again Steve and Terry, very useful information, and I guess not for me only.;) To be more specific, there are currently three fishes in my tank: one Dascyllus and two Chromis, the other Chromis is still eating and actively hunting food. I store my dry fish food (usually) in a...

    Fish disease ID

Not much changes today. Chromis is still not eating, I tried to give him food soaked in garlic juice. A kind of tiny hole or two appeared near the whitish sore on its head. Saw Dascyllus swimming around with a long "poop", it was quite upset, but got soon rid of it. :) Unfortunately I lost the...

    Fish disease ID

Thanks, Terry! Are you using Netscape browser? I didn't see them either from my workplace, but with IE and Mozilla anything was fine. I moved the pictures to another server, hope that everybody can see them now.

 Of course I did! Can't you see it? Here's one more.:) I have it about two weeks, two days ago it stopped to eat but still swimming around along with another. Beside of two Chromis there is only one Dascyllus trimaculatus in the tank. The tank is 250g with sump and refugium. All...

    Fish and invertebrates X-rays sensitivity

Sure you can. If it will and how it will live after that depend on the radiation dosis  My daugther is going to buy a baby "Jako" parrot and she explicitly asked from pet shop if it would be safe and they said ABSOLUTELY NOT. That's why I started to think about.

    Ogles Mesoscope

Hi, more pictures and even a video link available <<here>>

    Ogles Mesoscope

Well, I have this device and can say it's very useful especially for exploring SPS. Taking pictures with it isn't very easy. You really need a simple "point & shoot" camera with very small lense that can be pushed into the mesoscope's eyepiece. I used the cheapest camera I found - Mustek's...

    maroon clown

In the video he is basically fighting with me because I'm wearing a dark brown colored T-shirt. He probably thinks that I'm another huge maroon clown there. :D Normally he acts much more nicer toward other fishes.
