    I agree, tall tanks are beautiful to look at but a pain to maintain. In this case I have learned from the current built in that tall tanks need front access. You can see the 150 in the picture has no front access to the top. Hard to clean the front glass, hard to aquascape, hard to place corals...

    Taking pictures of Reef tanks is really challanging. The first big issue is the light. Dispite your thinking that "these halides sure are bright" in photography terms they're really not. Then they are usually >10,000 K which is normal upper limit of the white balance of most digital cameras...

    How fast do they grow

    It hard to tell with a hammer. They can open their tentacles up to amazing sizes giving the appearance of growth. The skeleton size when its retracted would be the best measure of growth. Mike
