    yeah yeah, i am cooking agian this year, but i think i am going to be able to wrangle in a friend from work to help me out. the fare will be nothing like the party we had for your sendoff, that filet mignon and creme brulee ran about a grand for the group, and that was a non-door charge event! :)

    sweet, i think my new aquisition might end up looking close to that depending on where the colors go, the coralites are a bit more random than yours, maybe we can trade chunks and grow them out to see what they end up looking like

    zip-kicker, and dont get it on any ca that happens to be on your fingers, i have had more than one blister from doing that :)

    mine is about 8" under water, and my lights are about 8" above the water, so 16" directly below a 250 watt hqi. i have 4500 gph running through my 75, pretty much everywhere is high flow :)

    most likely you are getting one of those two i have pictured. folks are calling the monastriata a danae, but in all likelyhood it is not that species... danae is easier to remember... kinda like the term tort, you use it, it sticks, wether it is applicable or not. danae usually look more like...

    i think it might be that washington water mojo, you might want to try a frag in my tank and see if it fares better in portland water... mine are (now) that one mojo posted, and this one, which now that there is a piece of in the states, I might actually get some day :)

    any problem centering the thing on the driove shaft? seems that if it was even a bit off center it would eventually spin its self apart, possibly damaging the pump.

    without getting into specifics, was doing this diy cost effective, or just a lot of fun. i realize that you can not really buy a hobbyist version of these wetneck skimmers anywhere, but after a week is it producing more than say a high end deltec would and with all the acrylic tubing in that...
