    Todd, Dont over flush, you want the pure side of the TFC to sit idle in as pure as water as possible. Your flushing with pre filtered tap so need to run it back to pure before shutting down. When you do a pre and post flush like you describe that is best done with a system designed to flush...

    If you still want to feel the grain and not add that typical plastic coat i'd just order some Maloof from rockler and be done with it. Its pre mixed and ready to flood on and wipe off. 3 or four coats will be perfect and not make it look like a plastic coating. Don

    Minwax wipe on poly or pretty much any other oil based poly is compatible. Depends on the look and feel your after. Make sure you wait about a week before applying poly over watco. Don
