    Tree's 250 Deep Dimention

Nice tank! The only thing I would recommend is getting the tank into a more shady area for two reasons. I noticed you had some regular sunlight shining into the tank which will probably cause an algae issue later on as the tank becomes more established. Secondly, the light will probably heat up...

    Rock stuck in my clam

    ooppps.....my bad! =)

    Rock stuck in my clam

Maybe try to leave the tank suspended hanging upside down for a day? I'm thinking that as it opens up and if it opens up enough, that gravity might dislodge it by itself. I wouldn't think that would hurt the clam to try it for a day or two. Just make sure to have it hanging securely.

    Overflow Question

I think it depends on where the tank will be and what the viewing angles are that will be visible. The nice thing about corner overflows I think is it allows for a backup overflow in case one clogs for any reason. The problem with them is it limits some of the viewing area if your viewing from...

Sorry to hear that. Good luck and keep us informed

    Rock stuck in my clam

Don't clams/mollusks just cover such debris with mother of pearl as long as it's not too huge???? I've harvested mussels on the coast before and found little pearls inside from the mussels coating the debris with mother of pear.

    coral ?

+1 on the above. It's pretty hard to kill the soft corals like the Palys, zoas, mushrooms, green star polyps, xenia, and kenya trees. They grow almost like weeds in some ways!!! I just started my tank a few months ago and I started off with some basic stuff as well as some LPS and now I have...

    sps lighting

Would you say that you end up paying more in terms of cost for a T5 setup than a MH in the long run?? It seems like for a large tank, you need a lot more T5 bulbs than you would for a comparable MH setup. You multiply that out each time it comes time to change the bulb and it seems pretty...

    New to plumbing, please help

Use the flex pipe. It's nice to be able to move your pipes around in case you need to adjust your sump or other unforseen things. Last thing you want is to bump the pipes too hard and have it spring a leak.

    Frag Plugs

somebody here suggested glueing an acrylic rod onto small pieces of LR. When your ready to mount the sucker onto it's permanent place, all you have to do is break off the rod and voila!

    MAJOR algae issues

yeah, my yellow and soho tang will mow down anything that looks like vegetation on the rocks! Too bad they won't touch the stringy dinoflageletes that grew on the sand.

    MAJOR algae issues

+1 on everything above. I've heard that the flake food has phosphates as well which might of contributed to the problem. Have you tested for Phosphates? I What kind of livestock do you have in there now?

    MAJOR algae issues

How much flow do you have?

    Algae on Acropora

I really don't think that you need to replace your lights over 2 *f during the day. That's very normal if not pretty tame compared to some other temperature swings I've heard from other people. I have a 210G under 3 400W MH and 2 Actinics and it goes up by as much as 4 degrees during the day. As...

    Strange Blue tang behavior

Maybe you should get him a running wheel like they have for hamsters! LOL

    Has anyone mixed a Flasher Wrasse w/ a 6-Line

Isn't that more dependent upon how much room they have?

get the one from ebay. I have one and it's working great

    Coral Compatability question

Can somebody tell me or can point me to a resource explaining what corals are safe to place next to each other on a rock or in the general vicinity of each other??? I know some corals are totally incompatible while others are ok

    Anemone help

Hammer coral and star polyps are pretty hardy. An anemone is way more delicate than either of those two. If anybody kills a hammer or frogspawn, they need to be attentive to their tank IMO. As for the nitrates, I'm surprised they said that it wouldn't be an issue. I was always under the...

    Huge bristle worm...

Dang, if I EVER saw ones that big in my tank, I think I would either get out of the hobby or hire somebody to go into the tank to get that sucker out even if I had to tear apart everything. I don't care how potentially good they might be for my tank, I just DON'T want that thing in my tank!!!!!!!!
