1/2" Acrylic too thin for 30" Tall Tank?

Does anybody out there have a tank this tall with this thick of walls? If so has it deflected over time?

I am thinking of buying a new 48x22x30" Tall Tank with 1/2" Acrylic, is this ok? Or is this going to be a problem...i.e. I should not buy it? I believe it is pretty well braced on top.

we have a 36 inch high 180 gallon tank that has a crazen potbelly in our shop .hey it was a free tank (thanks e-dog)

it will bow, maybe not break?
