O.K. so it's like this..
I had a close friend make me a BAD ASS three piece hood for my display...
I love it and I know I couldn't have made it as light but sturdy as he did..
Well there's one problem, the lights are to low to the water..
He made it to MY specs as asked.. but this was my mis-calculation on the spread of Lumenbright reflectors.. They are kind like a spot light and I had a dark "V" in the middle of my tank...
So I decided to mod the hood and bring the lights up 4 inches. also to take the T-5's off the bottom of the hood and right on top of the tank and secure those next to my MH reflectors..
So here is what it looked like the old way.
notice the dark spot in the middle and in the front.
So what I did was take 3 1x8's and chop them up and paint them to support the reflectors.
I prolly should have painted the 1x6 that holds the MH reflectors
I may still..
Up next is the FTS with the lights on (my glass is dirty right now)
thanks..
It was not too bad just had to plan it out right and do some creative wood work so it didn't look all ghetto sticking out the top of the hood.
