What color do you guys think i should do for the trim and poles?

I think the color scheme comes down to personal preference. You could go with a contrasting color like a clear coat of finish on pine. Or, a darker stain. I would get some scrap material to experiment with.

You might even consider painted trim contrasted with the stained wood. White trim might break up the large wood panels nicely. It's hard to tell without experimenting and looking at it in person. Good luck.

I like the wood edge pieces that cover the seam on the glass. I might see if I can incorporate that on my tank.
