Painting and more painting:)

When i paint with Krylon Fusion paint i follow a couple of rules which helps me recieve a nice finish. First i soak fitting, valves, or what ever to soften price tag. Once removed i use WD40 to remove glue then i wash in hot/warm water with soap, rince then dry. I then take a lite grit sanding sponge and lightly go oven fitting. I them mask off areas needed and start painting using several light coats waiting 15 minutes or so before next coat.

* I wait a week before messing with fittings after painting as this gives finish time to harden i believe this is a very important part of the process.:)

More pic of detail work takes time but will look great at the end:)

Painted two more tees for close loop pumps and finished everything but a few unions for sump manifold.

FYI: will be removing white egg crate in lieu of clearn netting before adding life forms:)

Looks good to me.
But we are all wanting to see more than pretty colored pipes!! LOL
Now show us something different. I know you have more to this build than pretty pipes!!

Come on man unload some goods on us. LOL

Ah yes much more to show:) BUT sometimes we must show the dark side of our hobby.....the side no one talks about:) The redo's seeking perfectionism......you know where every pipe is cut to the same length....each pipe installed at the same depth into each fitting.....perfect plumb.....perfectly level.
We do not have to fight this alone:) Together we are strong......that's why i am asking for your donation to help stop this...........
never ending cycle:) HELP ME STOP PERFECTIONISM:) by sending checks or cash to: 0U812 Reef Ave. Bakersfield, Ca. 90067
And as a added bonus.....The first 100 donor's will recieve a special calendar called: THE COLORS OF SUMMER...each month i will be in a different setting wearing only a speedo of that months colors:)lol

LOL I like the pretty colored pipes and fittings.

However I think the suspense could kill peppie!

Yeah but he's my inspiration.......so i better pick up the pace:) OK peppie here's the new project.......Controlled air injection system. No it's not needed but i believe injecting air for 1 minute every hour does a couple of things in a reef tank. This will be ran through my close loop system and will be on a timer running only when tank lights are on. One thing that it does is cause/helps corals to exspell their waste while at the same time binding with particulate matter in the water collum raising it to the surface to be removed.
I believe it does other things also, but i will get into that after my tank is running so i can back up my claims:)

Spinner that makes sense.
I assume you will be injecting the air after the pump/s. So how many fitting will you be installing? How much air will you push?

Last but not least. Are you crazy!! Everybody in this hobby is trying to get rid of ALL the bubbles in their tank, and here you are adding them on purpose!!! LOL

I look forward to see the bubbles in action.

Your thing-a-ma-jigger is awsome. Works better than I thought. Thanks !!!

OK here is my finished Cryptic ...ATS...Pump Stands. WARNING!!!!! May cause motion sickness:)

The bar across the middle will hold a 6" air stone under the roughed upped screen. The screen sits one inch under sump/refugium water level.

I sure hope you can recommend a good computer cleaning co.
I just puked allover mine!!

This is a work of art!
I think some more captions are needed so the majority of us can understand how all these colorful things work.

I still say you have a paint fetish!

I've never seen such pretty plumbing. Very nice looking set up through and through.

I like your idea of injecting air as a way of removing detritous form the display. I've never heard of it before but can understand the logic.

Hey trido thank you, alot of work on this size system with so many different components. Yeah i first started playing with air injection doing reasearch with refugiums in the 90's more by accident than on purpose. Their is a TOTM 2008 that has a nice way to set up air injection with good information but i will be doing mine different. I will show step by step so if wanted anyone could do it.
I want to say first is i believe this helps when used in a high flow system so micro bubbles don't hang around. I am trying to imitatate a process that happens with reef close to shore with wave breaks.

wow those colors sure are bright. i should have put my sunglasses on first. looks good. keep posting pictures . keep up the good work.

Reactor Bench and Pump Skids
