I added 3 dragonface pipefish to the tank last night. It looks like two of them are already paired up. :)

They graze on pods in the substrate but as they become more comfortable with the tank, they will move up into SPS and also eat red bugs. So, they scoot a long everywhere, not much swimming.

Do they require a substrate?

My refugium is quite populated at this point with "bugs." I love watching the micro life!

You always have the neatest systems Devon! Love the video of the pods . . . they really are cool and fun to watch. I'm noticing more of them in my center section as well. I captured as many as I could find when I tore the old tank down and transferred them. Mark thought I was kind of nuts when I would get excited and yell "found another one!", then run put them into the sump. They are very precious to have!

I really do like watching all the bugs in the fuge. I try to save them when I change the filter pads, lol. More food for all!

cool pods!! it reminds me of a story Bob told me one day, a customer set up a SW tank and bought one piece of live rock. no fish, nothing else. after some time he had a tank full of life, corals, pods, algae. I think that would be fun to see what you'd get out of a single piece of live rock. problem is I don't think I have the patients for that!!!!

While I was at Reefmissoula, my good old buddy Devon happened to walk in and after lunch with him and Shelby, I got to go up to their place and take some pics of his new setup!!! Gonna be good is all I can say, gonna be real good. Now maybe if I could talk him into a reef meeting/BBQ/beer drinking fun time, ;) ;). Anyways, got about 10 pics I wanna share with you all, so here you go:

Thanks for stopping by and taking some pics Carla, they turned out great! Maybe one of these days we will have to have a club meeting here. ;)

Just got done updating the firmware on my Apex controller to 4.31... as it was necessary to use the APEX Fusion cloud-based interface. Looks like they are simplifying being able to set your controller up so that it can be reached from infinity and beyond!

I would love to come down in a couple of months again see some progression! It looks as tho the scrubber is starting to get in tune, so a couple of months would be good to see!!! Let me know when you want to try getting together, some weekend when the Griz are away?

your scrubber is taking a lot longer to get established than I thought it was supposed to? maybe your nutrients are low? thanks for the great updates, I really like the short videos. your pipe fish are really cool, do they swim together all the time?
