For anyone interested, I finally got my (2) 50/50 bulbs rated at 40 watts each today for my FO setup (I better watch out that I don't burn down the house with that wattage now LOL). I just wanted to post a picture of the difference in spectrum between the regular bulbs and the 50/50's. The first picture is the original bulbs and the second (with the extra 1 lb of rockwork added to the right side of the tank which made me loose like 50 gallons of water LOL) has the 50/50's. Hope you like.

personally, i think all the extra rock makes the difference *wink*.

No really though, the blue of the 50/50 is nice.

Fleetbox...
Makes me regret saying that it looked like a cichlid tank! Looks great.

LOL...I remeber that post. I was ready to tear down and go fresh! It's getting there. Thanks. Soon enough it will look like a saltwater tank...I have all of the resources I need surrounding the island.

bc slc thanks for your reply. I really do like the spectrum. It reminded me of my old pc's, but just a softer verson.

Thanks Charlie.
About putting something in there, it was supposed to be yesterday, but I had a heat issue I had to sort out. As soon as I get that all under control, I'll start putting the fish in.

I saw that thread, but never followed it thru. Did you ever figure out what the problem was?

Sort of...My temperature has dropped 5 degrees since so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. A few little changes left to make.

Looking good Krish...

My African Cichlid tank looks a bit like a saltwater tank actually, lol. Full rockwork with caves, 20K Coralife tubes, and water so hard it practically hurts your hand when you reach in. Well, maybe not that hard; but I do have as much salt creep on my Cichlid tank as I do on my saltwater tanks though.

BTW, how are you coming with hurricanes down there recently?

Clayton

The hurricane (Tropical Storm Rita) just missed us. It is heading towards Florida and the Gulf and should become a hurricane. We've been very lucky this year so far with all of the system just missing us. Hopefully, The US can get some relief, as I know they are still trying to recover in some places from katrina, but it doesn't look too good.
