Birds Nest Placement Issue.

I'm inna quandary. My Birdsnest is hanging on my Idaho Grape and causing algae growth on its rim.
Thing is I've no idea where to move the Birdsnest. I'm absolutely no good at coral placement. I'm also afraid of moving, messing around with my corals. Yes I know it's silly but I actually shake whenever I try working with them. I think I'm just afraid of killing them.
Anyways if you all have any suggestions please help me. I'm willing to trim down the BN if needed. I don't want it killing my Idaho Grape.

Birds nests are pretty forgiving. If it were me though and I was concerned, I would clip a few smaller pieces from it and use it as a guide for placement. Put in one in the sand, one over to the left of the zoas on the far left of the tank and one to the right of the stylo (i think its a stylo, my id's can be bad), right above the spot where the cardinal is in the second pic. Give them each a few weeks to settle in, and see which one looks happiest. Then move the colony...

If it were me. Id try and break it in half. Leave it where it is. U can either trade,give away, or re plant ur birds. Looks like one of ur fastest growers so ull prob end up with a lot at the rate ur going. Hths. My .02

Hello,
I would recommend trimming the Birdsnest back a bit. It is a very hard coral so it is best to use some stainless cutters and instead of trying to cut through the coral grab it (the branch you want to remove) and just twist your wrist. This will prevent it from shattering. I would also trim any dead/algae covered pieces of the Idaho Grape Montipora. It is very hardy and a fast grower.
