Changes to my 375g

While my tank is fishless til Feb 24th, I thought I would take this opportunity to make some changes.

So I decided to re-aquascape and change the lighting.

For the aquascaping, kudos to Todd (TJL), a.k.a., the "other Todd" for doing the work. More hideouts for my angels and the tank has good separation for several "territories."

For lighting, I changed my XM 250w 10K to XM 250w 15K. I am still getting use to the bluer color of the tank, but I am now able to keep open brains, wellsi, and pocillopora, etc..

That can't be only one BTA. Kirk, did you wire-tie ten of them together for that shot? Seriously, the colors are so much better with the upgraded lighting, I can't wait to see it loaded with Brains ( and Fish, of course!)

You are correct. That is NOT just one RBTA..It is 7 of them. most of the them are dinner plate size..

Does ANYONE need a RBTA please, will make good deal !!!

I'm running the same lights, and I have been really happy with them. I too went from 10 to 15. So far so good.

Im sure RichV will be wanting one of them in about a month.

New aquascaping looks great, and you'll get used to the color. After having a year off of reefing I thought my new 29 was unaturally blue compared to the discus tank. After a month, Im liking the 20K better than the 10K look on it due to better coral colors.

I agree. You will eventually get use to the color. I went from basically 50/50 pc lighting on my old 75 gal to 20k xm bulbs (dual 250w metal halides) and didn't really the deep blue look, but eventually the color grew on me and ended up loving it!

These pics just don't do justice to how much LR is in the aquascape, each of the (3) seperate structures would nicely fill a std 100g tank. Kirk's tank dimensions are like 82" x 36" x 30" and I had to damn near swim to do the rock work.

Kirk, you really need to post a angled down picture to capture a better sense of perspective so people can see how awsome this reeftank is.

LOL, as this is a true statement.

When I work in the tank, I immediately take off my shirt as I know it is going to get wet.

To get a good top down pic, sounds like I need a acrylic cover for the camera lens

Love how the colors pop with that light! Looks like a happy tank - I'm sure your fish will be quite happy come the 24th!

I hope so. I am going to add small/delicate fish first and make sure they are settled before I add the big fish.

The carpenter wrasse and orange diamond goby are in a 37g and alittle cramped. I'm sure the wrasse will open it up a big once in the big tank.
